Therefore. Secondly, regarding the characteristics of omniscience: the ultimate wisdom that directly realizes all aspects of the two truths. From the perspective of the object, there are two types of omniscience: the omniscience that knows things as they are and the omniscience that knows things as many as they are. From the perspective of the method of teaching, there are two types of omniscience: the omniscience that knows the main thing of cause and effect and the omniscience that knows all knowable things. The first is like the teaching from the passage "The All-Knowing One of the Buddha." The latter is like the teaching from the passage "Subhuti, what are the aspects?" The characteristic of the Path Wisdom is the wisdom of the Mahayana Arya that directly realizes the three paths as being without inherent existence. There are two types: the Path Wisdom of the result and the Path Wisdom of the cause. The first is like the Path Wisdom of the Buddhas and Aryas. The second is the three Path Wisdoms taught in the second chapter. The characteristic of the Ground Wisdom is the wisdom of the Arya lineage that directly realizes that the ground is without self. There are two types: the Ground Wisdom of the result and the Ground Wisdom of the cause. The first is like the Ground Wisdom of the Buddha ground. The latter has two types: the Ground Wisdom of the discordant side and the antidote Ground Wisdom. The first is like the Ground Wisdom of the lineage of the Hinayana Aryas. The second is like the Ground Wisdom of the lineage of the Bodhisattva Aryas. Those who think that the Path Wisdom of the Buddha ground, the Path Wisdom of the Hearers' Path Wisdom, etc., are three, and those who think that the Ground Wisdom of the Buddha ground is the antidote Ground Wisdom, have not understood the meaning of the second and third chapters. Generating the mind is for the sake of others. In this chapter, there are four aspects of the Mahayana mind generation: name, characteristic, classification, and boundary. First, regarding the name, Sheng Sheng and Arya Deva both mainly consider the mind to be the mind. As it says in the Two Manifestations: "What is called mind generation is mind, which is discrimination, which is consciousness. What is consciousness? It is the consciousness of the mind, because it focuses on all white dharmas, so it exists." And in the Meaningful Explanation it says: "It should not be a mental factor, because it is mind generation." After listing the refutations, the answer is "Although it is so." The brothers Asanga and Vasubandhu consider it to be a mental factor. As it says in the Bodhisattva Grounds: "The excellent aspiration of the Bodhisattvas"

It is because of generating the mind of enlightenment. In the commentary on "the arising of mind with two meanings," Vasubandhu said: The mind that aims at and possesses one or two qualities is the mind of enlightenment. Shantideva said: Both mind and mental factors are accepted. In the Compendium of Trainings, it is said: The object of the mind of enlightenment, mind refers to intention and mind. Moreover, because it is to be generated, it is called the mind of enlightenment. If explained from the perspective of action, the main thing is mind. Because the mind of enlightenment has been generated, if explained from the perspective of the agent, it includes mental factors. Therefore, both do not abandon the meaning of the term "mind of enlightenment." To this, some say: If mental factor is mind, then it must not be the mind of enlightenment, because if it is a mental factor, it must not be the mind of enlightenment. In the case of "the sign is true," it was admitted, and now it is said that the negation is now admitted. The meaning of the negation now admitted is that if mental factor is mind, then it must not be the mind of enlightenment, then this mental factor is mind does not abandon the meaning of the term "mind of enlightenment," is it refuted in this way? In the system of the brothers Asanga, if mental factor is mind, then it must not be the mind of enlightenment, is it refuted in this way? If it is like the first case, then for the benefit of others, inference would abandon the meaning of the term "inference," because if it were so, it must not be inference. If it is like the second case, then according to Vasubandhu's system, if it is a sutra that shows the ultimate establishment of the three vehicles, then it must be a definitive sutra, if it is a sutra that shows the ultimate establishment of the three vehicles, then it must be a definitive sutra. In the second case, there are three: refutation, establishment, and abandonment. The first is: Some say that the main consciousness that appears as the nature of perfect benefit for others and perfect enlightenment, and arises in conjunction with the intention to aim at perfect enlightenment for the benefit of others, is the characteristic of the Mahayana mind of enlightenment. To this, Bu said: Person, Dharma, you do not have the Mahayana mind of enlightenment in your continuum, because you do not manifest the nature of perfect enlightenment. After refuting in this way, in his own system, he said: What is the main consciousness? It is that which arises in conjunction with the intention to aim at perfect enlightenment for the benefit of others. It is not not pervasive of the Buddha's mind of enlightenment, because he has already intended perfect enlightenment for the benefit of others. He said so. To this, some
