Therefore, it would follow that it is already realized. Because the inferior nirvana mentioned here is the true limit. It pervades, because it is said that "realizing the limit of reality." Some people think that the true limit only refers to the nirvana of the Great and Small Vehicles. As the sutra says, "The so-called true limit is a synonym for nirvana." And as it is said in the Pramāṇavārttika, "The Dharma friend realizes the true limit," which refers to the pacification of the limit of the selflessness of the individual. If so, then it is impossible for the bodhisattva of the eighth ground to realize the true limit without having done the three dharmas. Because without having done the three dharmas, he has neither realized the inferior nirvana nor is it possible to realize the Mahayana nirvana. If it is said that the latter is not established, because the cessation truth in his continuum is the Mahayana nirvana. Then, if it is a bodhisattva of the eighth ground, it is necessarily pervaded by realizing the true limit without having done the three dharmas. If so, it is necessarily pervaded by realizing the Mahayana nirvana without having done the three dharmas. The subject and the pervader are accepted. The second view is that the true limit only refers to the dharmadhatu free from elaboration. Because the true limit mentioned here, and the cessation mentioned in the Daśabhūmika Sūtra, and also Suchness, Dharmadhatu, Signlessness, Ultimate Truth, are all synonyms. When explaining the sutra "One should not realize the true limit," it says "The basis for not directly seeing Suchness." In the Yogācāra treatises, it says, "The true limit is the Dharmadhatu." The Madhyamakāvatāra says, "Suchness and the true limit, are also the emptiness of such things." The Madhyāntavibhāga says, "Emptiness, if briefly stated, is Suchness and the true limit, signlessness, ultimate truth, and Dharmadhatu, are various synonyms." The commentary on the Madhyamakāvatāra says, "Entering into cessation is entering into the true limit, therefore Suchness is called cessation, because all elaborations cease here." In short, in this Maitreya Dharma, using the term selflessness of phenomena, the uncommon object of realization of the bodhisattva himself should be understood as Suchness, which is free from all elaborations.

Rather, it is not like this to take the non-affirming negation that merely obscures the truth as the nature of reality. Secondly, there are three: refutation, establishment, and abandonment. The first is: Some say that it is to constantly abide in equanimity in the realm of phenomena. If so, then it is impossible for the bodhisattva of the eighth ground to manifest the ultimate reality shown here. Because it is impossible for him to constantly abide in equanimity in the realm of phenomena, because such qualities are the unique qualities of the Buddha. If it is said that it is not established, because the bodhisattva on the verge of permanence constantly abides in equanimity in the realm of phenomena, then, the bodhisattva on the verge of permanence, it follows that he has manifested the ultimate reality without accomplishing the three perfections, maturation, and purification. Because without accomplishing the three dharmas, he constantly abides in equanimity in the realm of phenomena. The pervasion is accepted. Some say that it is to abide in equanimity in a way that does not arise from the realm of phenomena. If so, then does the bodhisattva on the verge of permanence abide in equanimity in a way that does not arise from the realm of phenomena, or does he not abide? If the former, then it follows that he has manifested the ultimate reality without manifesting the three dharmas. Because without accomplishing the three dharmas, he abides in equanimity in a way that does not arise from the nature of reality. If the latter, then it follows that the equanimity abiding in the nature of reality can arise from that equanimity abiding. Whatever abides in the equanimity abiding in the nature of reality remains in it. Because of accepting the latter statement. Some say that abiding in equanimity in the ultimate reality is the extent to which the ultimate reality is manifested, this view will be refuted in the section on refuting arguments below. Secondly, there are two extents: the extent to which the ultimate reality is manifested after accomplishing the three dharmas, and the extent to which the ultimate reality is manifested without accomplishing them. The first is: while spontaneously accomplishing the benefit of others without effort, constantly abiding in equanimity in the nature of reality. The second is: by abiding in equanimity in the nature of reality for a long time without effort, the benefit of others is temporarily interrupted. The latter is not present below the seventh ground, because below that, one cannot abide in equanimity in the realm of phenomena without effort. It is present above the eighth ground, because the bodhisattva of the eighth ground abides in equanimity in cessation for a long time, and the victorious ones request him to arise from it. Therefore, the instruction not to manifest is also for the bodhisattvas below the seventh ground.
