Is that so? Even if it is impermanent, is it not possible to abandon it because there is no antidote to abandon it? Even if there is an antidote, is it not possible to abandon it because it is not understood? If it is like the first case, it is unreasonable, because there is a cause for producing it. The second case is not, because the root of obscuration is self-grasping, so there is wisdom that realizes selflessness as an antidote to it. The third case is not, because knowing that the root of obscuration is self-grasping, it is possible to know that the antidote to it is the wisdom that realizes selflessness. As it is said, in the Compendium of Valid Cognition, "Because of permanence, or because of no means, or because of not knowing the means, faults are said to be inexhaustible. If one thinks in this way, because there is a cause, and the antidote to the cause, is exhausted by habituation." As it is said. The third case is, in the ṭīkā (Sanskrit, ṭīkā, commentary), it is said, "When sentient beings attain Buddhahood, the time when sentient beings have already attained Buddhahood is not universally present, just as all things perish, but the time when all things have perished does not exist." To this, the author of the Dar ṭīkā (Sanskrit, ṭīkā, commentary) says, "I very much agree that the time when all things have perished exists, because the time when all things do not exist exists, because the non-existence of things is existence." If it is thought that the difference that things exist up to this point and things do not exist after this point is reasonable, because the perishing of all things is existence. If it is said like this, then the difference that blue exists up to this point and blue does not exist after this point is reasonable, because the perishing of all blue is existence. If it is not established, then blue, as the subject, you should be permanent and substantial, because you arise from a cause, and your perishing is non-existent." He says like this. Then, the time when things do not exist should be existent, because things do not exist at the time of the result of things. The sign is admitted. If admitted, then that time is not a thing. Also, time, as the subject, you should be permanent and substantial, because you arise from a cause, and the time when you perish does not exist. Also, the author of the Dar ṭīkā (Sanskrit, ṭīkā, commentary) says, in the ṭīkā (Sanskrit, ṭīkā, commentary), if all sentient beings attain Buddhahood, then the time when all sentient beings have attained Buddhahood is universally present, then all sentient beings being dead is universally present, because they are all universally dead. This is not considered a fault, because the former is the time when sentient beings attain Buddhahood exists.

Saying "the time is exhausted." One should not say "all sentient beings have become Buddhas, therefore it is all-pervasive," because of that. If asked: If so, we also have no such fault, one should say "the time when all have died exists," but one should not say "death is all-pervasive," because of that. Also, the Darṭīka commentator says: Some say, "All sentient beings become Buddhas. Whether they all become Buddhas is uncertain," which is a contradiction of one's own words. Is the certainty that you think "all sentient beings become Buddhas" drawn by the power of valid cognition or not? If it is drawn, then all sentient beings must become Buddhas; if it is not drawn, then establishing a proposition for a meaning not determined by valid cognition is a laughing matter. If one accepts that, then that fault can enter, but one does not accept that becoming a Buddha or not is uncertain, because becoming a Buddha and the certainty of becoming a Buddha are the same meaning. Fourth, extrapolating from that, in the examination of whether samsara has an end or not, there are three: refutation, establishment, and abandonment. The first, the Darṭīka commentator says: The self-school establishes the proposition "all sentient beings become Buddhas, samsara has an end," then "the time when all sentient beings have become Buddhas exists, because all sentient beings become Buddhas"; and "the time when all sentient beings are completely extinct exists, because samsara has an end," these two are extremely desirable to accept, because the time when sentient beings are extinct exists, because at the time of the second moment of that, it is extinct. If it is not established, then all sentient beings, you are a permanent phenomenon, you should become a real thing, you are born from a cause, why? Because at the time of your second moment, you exist. The time when all sentient beings never exist should become existent, and the time when they are all cut off should become existent, because samsara has an end. To those who say this, the answer is: the pervasion is not established. Thus it is said. If so, the time when all noble Bodhisattvas are extinct should become existent, because the time when all sentient beings are extinct exists. If accepted, then the Sambhogakaya at the time when the noble Bodhisattvas are extinct should become existent, because that time is the time of the Sambhogakaya. The proposition is accepted. If accepted, then the Sambhogakaya at that time should become definitely surrounded by only the noble Bodhisattvas, because it is the Sambhogakaya. If accepted, then if it is the Sambhogakaya, then it should become all-pervasively surrounded by only the noble Bodhisattvas. Because of accepting that. If accepted, then the Sambhogakaya at the time when the noble Bodhisattvas are extinct.
