Regarding the Sutra of 'Not Harmed by the Earth' and acknowledging the 'Sutra of Provisional Meaning' as the 'Sutra of Not Harmed by the Earth,' some say that the sutra that mainly teaches the ultimate truth and the conventional truth is the definition of these two. Regarding the first case, the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra that begins with 'without form, without sound,' etc., is the subject of the proposition. It is correct because it is a sutra of definitive meaning. If you concede, then it would follow that it is without form. The sutra that teaches having form is the subject of the proposition. It is correct because it is a sutra of provisional meaning. As it is said in the Twentieth Chapter: 'For those beings who are being tamed, it is said that there are form and other sense bases because of their intention, just like beings born miraculously.' Regarding the second case, the sutra that teaches the ultimate three vehicles is the subject of the proposition. It should be a sutra of definitive meaning because that is its definition. If it is not established, then the school that acknowledges it as a sutra of definitive meaning will not be harmed by scripture and reasoning. Because you are established by it, because you are the Vaibhashika. The sutra that teaches that all phenomena are without inherent existence is the subject of the proposition. It should be a sutra of provisional meaning because that is its definition. The method of proof can be understood by the previous method of argumentation. Regarding the third case, if it is the word of the Buddha, it must be a sutra of definitive meaning. If that is the case, then it must have that definition. If it is not established, then it follows that in the Secret Inconceivable Samadhiraja Sutra, it says: 'In thousands of world realms, whatever sutras I have spoken, the letters are different, the meaning is the same, and it is not possible to fully proclaim them.' Regarding the second case, the definitions of these two are, in order: the sutra that directly teaches the ultimate truth as the main subject matter, and the sutra that directly teaches the establishment of the conventional truth as the main subject matter, which is the means for not realizing the ultimate truth. As it is said in the Samadhiraja Sutra: 'The Tathagata taught emptiness, and one should know the distinctions of the sutras of definitive meaning. Whatever teaches sentient beings, persons, and individuals, one should know that all those teachings are of provisional meaning.' Therefore, in the view of all four schools, it is the same that their respective ultimate truths are considered definitive meaning, and their conventional truths are considered provisional meaning. Since the definitions of these two are different, the definitions of these two sutras are also different.

For example, the sutra that demonstrates the existence of true particles is considered by the upper two schools to be a provisional sutra, and by the lower two schools to be a definitive sutra, just like that. Thirdly, some argue that the sutra that simultaneously teaches both conventional truth and ultimate truth as the main subject matter directly taught is the subject, and should be the reason, because it possesses that characteristic. If it cannot be established, then it should be the reason, because both of them are sutras that teach the main subject matter. If it cannot be established, then both of them are the subject, the sutra that you teach by directly teaching the main subject matter, should be the sutra that you teach by directly teaching the main subject matter, because you exist. If you say so, then the uninterrupted path that mainly eliminates both afflictive obscurations and cognitive obscurations, should be the uninterrupted path that mainly eliminates afflictive obscurations, because both of them are uninterrupted paths that mainly eliminate. If it cannot be established, then both of them are the subject, the uninterrupted path that you mainly eliminate, should be the uninterrupted path that you mainly eliminate, because you are an obstacle. It is admitted sequentially. If it is considered the root, then it is the subject, and should become the uninterrupted path of the Lesser Vehicle. Some argue that the sutra that teaches the ultimate One Vehicle is the subject, and should be the reason, because it is a definitive sutra. If you admit, then the ultimate One Vehicle should become the ultimate truth, if you ask like that, then formlessness should become the ultimate truth, because the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra called Formlessness is a sutra that directly teaches the main subject matter of the ultimate truth. These distinctions between definitive and provisional meanings, because we want to explain them in detail separately, so we will not elaborate here. "Because the Dharma realm has no difference." And in the case of "depending on the differences of the Dharma," among the three: the place of debate, the way of debating, and the way of answering it, the first is, in the establishment of the body, "The nature of the Dharma realm and." Thus, the Dharma realm of sentient beings' minds is debated as being taught as the Buddha-nature. The second is, all sentient beings should become possessors of the Buddha-nature, because all sentient beings are pervaded by the Dharma realm. If you admit, then the three different lineages of the Three Vehicles cannot be separated.
