In the Ornament of the Sutras, it explains the ten kinds of scattered conceptualizations, such as clinging to existence and clinging to non-existence. In the Compendium of Topics, it explains the ten root conceptualizations. In the Treasury of Knowledge, it explains the two kinds of conceptualizations: the definitive conceptualization and the subsequent recollection conceptualization. Here, like the four conceptualizations of grasping the grasper and the grasped, all the conceptualizations mentioned in the scriptures are included in the unreal pervasive conceptualization, because they are manifested as the duality of grasper and grasped by the power of habit, and are included in the mind and mental factors that have the aspect of the three realms. Their basis is all the consciousness in the continuum of ordinary beings, the subsequent consciousness in the continuum of the Hinayana learners and non-learners, and the subsequent consciousness of the Mahayana learners. In terms of classification, there are three types of conceptualizations: conceptualizations that merely appear as the grasper and the grasped, conceptualizations that have the aspect of a coarse mind, and conceptualizations that mix sound and meaning. The first is merely appearing as the grasper and the grasped without substantial clinging, that is, all the non-conceptual consciousness in the continuum of ordinary beings, and all the subsequent consciousness in the continuum of the Mahayana learners and the Hinayana learners and non-learners. The second is the mental factor that seeks objects in a coarse manner. The Compendium of Topics says: "What is conceptualization? It is the mental speech of the mind that universally seeks based on the obscuration of the mind, and it has the aspect of a coarse mind." The third is the wisdom that relies on names and substantially clings to meaning. The Commentary on Valid Cognition says: "Whatever consciousness grasps sound and meaning, that is conceptualization." Thus, among these three, the first is not the main object to be abandoned on the Bodhisattva path, because merely appearing as duality without generating the fault of substantial clinging does not require special effort to abandon; and as long as the habit of duality has not been abandoned, it will arise naturally, so it cannot be abandoned; and after it is abandoned, it will naturally disappear, so it does not need to be abandoned separately; and because it is together with the three of rejoicing, dedication, and rejoicing. The second is also not, because Vasubandhu said that the true conceptualization also has the aspect of a coarse mind. Therefore,

That conceptualization which is the main object to be abandoned on the Bodhisattva path is established as the third conceptualization. There are three types of minds that are manifestly attached: the mind that is manifestly attached to the self of the person, the mind that is manifestly attached to the self of phenomena, and the mind that is manifestly attached to the non-existence of both selves. Among these, the first is the main object to be abandoned on the Hearer and Solitary Realizer paths, the second is the main object to be abandoned on the Bodhisattva path, and the last is not an object to be abandoned. If it is the third conceptualization, it is not necessarily the main object to be abandoned on the Bodhisattva path, because the meditative wisdom of the Bodhisattva's path of joining and manifest afflictions are also the third conceptualization. If it is the main object to be abandoned on the Bodhisattva path, it is not necessarily the third conceptualization, because the seed of the obscuration of knowledge is also the main object to be abandoned. Therefore, if it is the conceptualization that is the main object to be abandoned on the Bodhisattva path, then it is necessarily the clinging mind that mixes sound and meaning, because if it is, then it is necessarily a mind with manifest attachment. The third (conceptualization) has five points: essence, divisions, the meaning of each division, definite number, and the way of possessing. In the first point (essence), examine whether it is an establishing conceptualization or a refuting conceptualization, examine which corresponds to the essence and what is to be abandoned, and determine the nature. In the first point, refute the view that it is only a refuting conceptualization, refute the view that there are both refuting and establishing conceptualizations, and the self-system. In the first point, the opponent says: If the conceptualization mentioned here is a refuting conceptualization, then it must be a refuting conceptualization, because the Buddha's wisdom foot said it is a refuting conceptualization, and if it is an establishing conceptualization, then it cannot be a characteristic of the Great Vehicle's path of joining. Then, the meditative wisdom of the Great Vehicle's path of joining and the conceptualization mentioned here, the ways of holding them are not actually contradictory, because the ways of holding both are in the form of refuting. If you admit, then the two are not what is to be abandoned and the antidote, because you admit it. This is pervasive, because both are consciousnesses with ways of holding. To this, the opponent says: The wisdom of the extreme of existence and the stain of the suffering of existence are not what is to be abandoned and the antidote, because the ways of holding the two are not contradictory. If you say this is pervasive, then the inference that sound is impermanent and the superimposition of holding sound as permanent, the ways of holding the two are not contradictory, then
