Furthermore, the distinction between the two is made through the gateway of "distinguishing between what is true and untrue, the conventional." Secondly, the ultimate truth is of a nature that is universally of one taste, like the sky, so it is unreasonable to distinguish it from the perspective of its own essence. However, from the perspective of the subject of qualities, it is said to be twenty emptinesses, and sixteen condensed from them, and four aspects condensed from them. Thirdly, regarding conventional truth, the conventional of the object is conventional because it obscures the seeing of the meaning of reality. As it is said, "Ignorance obscures the nature, therefore it is conventional." Therefore, it appears as true in the face of that mind, so it is true. As it is said, "Whatever appears falsely true, that is called conventional truth, as the Able One said." The meaning of the term ultimate truth is that meaning, supreme, and truth are three that are of the same basis, therefore it is ultimate truth. As it says in the commentary on the Entering the Middle Way, "The ultimate truth of the Buddhas is the very nature, and it is the ultimate truth because it is not deceptive, and it is to be known separately by each of them." Why is suchness called truth? Because the word "truth" has two meanings: non-deception and abiding in the state of affairs. This is taken in the sense of the former, as it says in the sutra, "The supreme truth is only one, namely, the non-deceptive dharma of nirvana." The explanation of the term from the perspective of the object is explained from the treatises of the Svātantrika school: the ultimate valid cognition that is practiced is the ultimate, and because it is not deceptive in obtaining the ultimate qualities by attending to it as it is ascertained, it is established as true. In the context of "suffering is the result of form and so on," the meaning of the four noble truths, characteristics, and examples are explained. First, why are the four truths called noble truths? As it is said in the scriptures, like impermanence and suffering, by focusing on and meditating on them, they become the cause of attaining purification, and as the noble ones see impermanence and suffering, etc., as established by valid cognition, while children think of them as pure and happy.

Because it is not established by valid cognition, like clinging to 'ba' and so on. Secondly, there are two aspects: refutation and establishment. First, regarding the characteristics of the truth of suffering, if it is said to be 'a phenomenon included in contaminated results,' and 'a contaminated phenomenon that has become the result of its own cause, the origin,' and 'a contaminated phenomenon that has become the result of its own cause, either karma or affliction,' and 'impermanence,' and 'the suffering of conditioned existence,' and 'empty of self as other,' and 'a collection of four: selflessness as essence,' then, regarding the first three, the form aggregate of a bodhisattva on the path of seeing who has not abandoned the body of an ordinary being is the object to be proven, because it possesses those three characteristics. If it is not established, then, regarding the first, because whatever is contaminated is included in results. Regarding the latter two, because whatever is the result of its own cause, the origin, is a contaminated phenomenon. If the first is not established, then, because the karma and afflictions that project it are the truth of the origin. If it is asserted as the root, then it is not so, because a bodhisattva on the path of seeing has abandoned both suffering and origin, because he has abandoned samsara. The fourth, is a phenomenon, its characteristic is unreasonable, because it is permanent. If it is not established, then, it is so, because emptiness of self as other and selflessness as essence are permanent. Regarding the characteristics of the truth of the origin, if it is said to be 'a phenomenon included in contaminated causes,' and 'contaminated karma that has become the cause of its own result, suffering,' and 'a contaminated phenomenon that has become the cause of its own result, the truth of suffering,' and 'the meaning of the collection of four: cause, origin, arising, and condition,' then, regarding the first and third, the impure vessel world is the object to be proven, because it possesses that characteristic. Regarding the latter, because the second moment of the vessel world that has become its own result is the truth of suffering. Regarding the second, the karma that projects the element of the continuum of an ordinary being upwards possesses that characteristic, because it is the object to be proven, because it is contaminated karma. If it is asserted, then it is not so, because it is contaminated karma that has become the cause of its own result, happiness, because the phenomenon is such. Furthermore, the thought of his continuum
