It should be known as if lacking eyes. This contradicts the treatise that says, "Ordinary beings, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattvas who have newly entered the Mahayana." To this, someone might say: This refers to the ordinary beings among Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, but their noble ones directly realize the Tathagatagarbha. If so, then a Shravaka who has attained the path of seeing should not take rebirth in samsara due to the power of karma and afflictions, because they have directly seen the Tathagatagarbha. This is pervasive. As stated in the Uttaratantra, "Because of seeing correctly as it is, even though having transcended birth and so on." Furthermore, the path of seeing of a Shravaka, the grasping and the manner of grasping that take samsara and nirvana as characteristics of what should be accepted and rejected, should directly contradict that of the Mahayana path of seeing. Because you and they both are the same in the path of seeing that realizes the absence of inherent existence of phenomena. Also, it (the Shravaka's path of seeing) should become the foundational wisdom directly revealed from the point of "knowing all times as equal." The Bodhisattva's path of seeing is also the same, because you and they both are the same in the path of seeing that realizes the absence of inherent existence of phenomena. If you accept this, then it should become the foundational wisdom that is the antidote. Also, it (the Shravaka's path of seeing) should not be a momentary conceptualization, because the grasping of the absence of inherent existence of phenomena that is realized by the noble Bodhisattva is also realized by you. If you accept this, then it contradicts the treatise that says, "Momentary and diverse." Also, it (the Shravaka's path of seeing) should become the foundational wisdom directly revealed from the point of "form and other aggregates are emptiness," because it is the foundational wisdom that can directly prevent the clinging behavior towards the nature of form and other phenomena, the phenomena of the three times, and the practices of generosity and so on. If it is not established, then concede it, and the Bodhisattva of the first ground should be able to overpower the Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Arhats with the power of their wisdom, because the foundational wisdom of the former continuum can directly obstruct the latter, while the foundational wisdom of the latter continuum cannot directly obstruct the former. Fifth, the realization of grasping at entities directly revealed from the point of "the basis of substance and imputation" should become afflictive obscurations, because it belongs to grasping at true existence. If you accept this, then the Mahayana path of joining,

The four realizations that have become special characteristics should not be the main objects to be abandoned on the Bodhisattva path, because of this intention. The second point is: If there is clinging to truth, it pervades the afflictive obscurations, but the aspect of true appearance where the five sense consciousnesses perceive objects as inherently true is the obscuration of knowledge, which is a unique tenet of the Prasangika Madhyamaka. Even below the seventh ground, not even a little of the obscuration of knowledge is abandoned, because there the seeds of clinging to truth, along with their imprints, exist. Therefore, the lowest limit for abandoning the obscuration of knowledge is set from the eighth ground onwards, they say. To this, eighteen great consequences that cannot be refuted by answers will arise, so listen in order. Bodhisattvas on the path of seeing, possessing aggregates of their own continuum, should generate self-grasping, because they are individuals who have not abandoned the clinging to truth that grasps their own aggregates as true. The sign and pervasion are accepted. If accepted, then as before. 1. Because "the ninth ground is great," it should show the distinctions of the path of cultivation that has become the antidote to what is to be abandoned by cultivation, the afflictive obscurations, because that which shows what is to be abandoned by cultivation, for that which is the obscuration of knowledge, the path of cultivation being small or smaller, etc., is impossible. The external aspect is accepted. If accepted, then the purity of the Buddha should be established as extreme from the perspective of abandoning the afflictive obscurations, because that scripture shows the reason for establishing it as extreme. Because of this intention. 2. Also, because "that is a stream-enterer," it should show the distinctions of the path of cultivation that has become the sole antidote to what is to be abandoned by cultivation, the afflictive obscurations, the reason being as before. If accepted, then the conceptualization in the context of the Bodhisattvas' afflictions being conceptual thoughts should become afflictions, because of this intention. 3. Also, noble Bodhisattvas should intentionally strive to abandon the afflictive obscurations, because if it is the uninterrupted path below the seventh ground, then it must be the sole antidote to the afflictive obscurations. The sign is accepted. 4. Also, noble Bodhisattvas should not abandon the obscurations of knowledge that are their respective shares in the ten grounds, because below the seventh ground there is no abandonment of the obscurations of knowledge that are their respective shares. If accepted, then in the Compendium it says: Bodhisattvas on the ten grounds are the path of cultivation
