If one thinks that this contradicts what was said before, then its meaning is that it does not exist in the ultimate truth, nor does it not exist in the conventional truth, so the mind should not cling to it in that way either. It does not mean to accept "neither existent nor nonexistent" as the words literally say, because after truly understanding the two negations, if it is not existent, it must be nonexistent; if it is not nonexistent, it must be existent. To think that the mind not clinging to any extreme is the view of Madhyamaka is the same as the view of the Chinese monk Heshang. After negating the truth, merely clinging to emptiness, which is empty of truth, is the wisdom of realizing the reality. Like this, if one correctly recognizes the clinging to truth, one will know that there are many conceptualizations that are not the self-grasping of persons, therefore, all the objects grasped by conceptualizations, wanting to negate them with the reasoning that examines thatness, then all the wrong conceptualizations will be reversed. Thus it is said. Secondly, if someone thinks that after negating the truth, clinging to the emptiness that negates the truth is not to be negated, then this is a major error in the tenets of Madhyamaka. As it says in the "Compendium Sutra": "Even if a Bodhisattva thinks this aggregate is empty, he does not engage with signs and does not rely on the unborn." Also, as it says in the "Intermediate Mother Sutra": "If one engages in form being empty, one engages in signs. If one engages in form not being empty, one engages in signs." And so on, all reliable Madhyamaka tenets agree that all dualistic clingings such as empty and not empty should be negated. If one thinks that merely clinging to emptiness, which is empty of truth, is realizing the ultimate view of Madhyamaka, and thinks that this is not to be negated, then this is criticized in many ways in the tantras of Secret Mantra, and in the case of a great yogi, it will become the eleventh root downfall, and so on, there are many such statements, but it is not appropriate here, so I will not elaborate. The fact that the object to be negated by Madhyamaka reasoning is only true existence is also harmed by reasoning. If that is the case, then it follows that being separated from any one extreme is pervasive with being Madhyamaka, because the extreme to be negated by Madhyamaka reasoning is, among the two, existent and nonexistent in true existence, only true existence, and among the two, true and false existence, only true existence, and so on. If one thinks that the non-extreme, which is made into two extremes, is nonexistent in conventional truth, then

If you think there is no fault, then, when examining with the reasoning that investigates the nature of reality, all appearing phenomena will become conventionally existent, because at that time all four extremes have been negated, so it is also necessary to negate that appearing phenomena do not exist conventionally. Do you all remember the pervasion? If you accept it, think about what will happen. The statement that the former mind cognizes the reality of the object, so the latter mind cannot negate it, seems reasonable to a mind that has not grasped the point, but if the point is grasped, it will become like this: the mind that negates the truth with reasoning and clings to the appearance of non-truth, from the aspect of negating the truth, is cognizing the reality of the object, but from the aspect of clinging to the appearance of non-truth, it is inverted, so the latter mind must negate it. Because when examining with reasoning, the object of clinging of the truth-grasping, the truth, does not exist, similarly, the object of clinging of grasping non-truth, that non-truth, is also equally non-existent. For example, on the four truths, from the aspect of negating the sixteen aspects such as permanence, the mind that cognizes the sixteen aspects such as impermanence can be established as cognizing the reality of the object, but the object of clinging, the sixteen aspects such as impermanence, when examined with reasoning, because they are not established, the mind that clings to them is inverted. Similarly, the Protector Maitreya also prevents the manifest clinging to the sixteen aspects such as impermanence. By negating the thirty-two elaborations on the four truths and meditating, at the time of the path of seeing, the freedom from elaboration, which is free from the thirty-two elaborations, will become manifest. That itself is the valid cognition here. Similarly, giving alms and keeping precepts, etc., with the clinging to the three spheres, although they are the antidote to stinginess and immoral conduct, that mind itself is inverted in relation to the reality, so it is necessary to abandon it with the mind that does not focus on the three spheres. Similarly, prostrating to the Tathagata with name-grasping, although it is the antidote to lack of faith, etc., it is said to be inverted in relation to the reality, etc., it should be known to be limitless. If you say that those are not accepted here, then, the Protector Maitreya, in the treatise explaining the meaning of the Mother in the context of Madhyamaka, says that not accepting is a very inappropriate wrong conception, which has already been negated elsewhere, and also in the Madhyamaka system: If you think that impermanence is permanent, holding it in that way is wrong, for impermanence in emptiness,
