Those statements that things are unestablished refer to the mind in meditative equipoise, not to subsequent discrimination. Here, it is said that when analyzing the reality of the object in the subsequent state, there is no fault in asserting that the dharmadhatu is truly established. This is truly amazing! Does that mean that the dharmadhatu of the mind during meditative equipoise is not asserted to be truly established in the subsequent state? Or does it mean that because it is not asserted as such during meditative equipoise, there is no fault for oneself? If it is the former, it directly contradicts one's own tenets; if it is the latter, then who with intelligence would believe that the Madhyamikas' having or not having commitments, the accusations against the realists, and the refutation of the fault falling on oneself are all during the time of abiding in meditative equipoise, and not in the subsequent state? Consider this well, that in the end, in order to eliminate the faults of the fundamental tenets, it turns out like this, and do not casually develop tenets! Then, the basis for refuting the first extreme is the very basis of the dispute, which is the dispute over what is truly existent or not. As it is said in the Essence of Wisdom, Collected from All: "The holy consciousness possesses the meaning of ultimate truth, But the wise do not want it to be permanent, Because it is free from the nature of one and many, Like a lotus in the sky." If we consider the attachment to truth as the main thing, then all things are. As it is said in the Root Wisdom: "Things, wherever they are, Never have birth." And in its commentary, the Clear Words: "Among them, the word 'things' is a dependent word, a synonym for the word 'who'." In general, all dharmas are, because there is no dharma that is not included in the twenty objects of emptiness, and for those, one must first refute truth and ultimately achieve the cessation of the four extremes of elaboration. However, the scriptures mainly say to refute the truth of compounded things, objects, and appearances, because they are the main basis for the arising of the attachment to truth, and therefore by refuting them, the truth of other dharmas is naturally refuted. For example, in the treatises on logic, the sound conceptualization that has objects as its object is the main basis for the arising of the wrong conceptualization that thinks it arises through establishment, and therefore it arises through establishing them.

It is just as it is said that by extensively preventing, the attachment (to sound) is indirectly prevented by establishing the sound conceptualization with an unreal object. Third, on top of those bases, establishing them as truly existent, as ultimately existent, as truly existent, as existent by nature, as self-existent, as existent by their own characteristics, as truly born, as truly existing things, etc., all the phenomena to be grasped are prevented by establishing these, because both Prasangikas and Svatantrikas believe that when those objects of negation are analyzed with reason, there is no phenomenon that is established as absolutely existent. Fourth, there are two necessities: abandoning suffering and attaining enlightenment. The first is: if there is a true clinging to the aggregates of phenomena, then the true clinging to the person will definitely arise. This is the initial ignorance of the twelve links, and since the subsequent limbs arise from it, the main cause of suffering is the true clinging to the phenomena as true. As it is said in the Ratnavali: 'As long as there is clinging to the aggregates, there is clinging to the self in them, if there is clinging to the self, there is karma, and from that (karma) there is birth.' And in the Root Wisdom: 'Because of being obscured by ignorance, there is rebirth, the three types of actions, whichever is the manifest action, those actions go to the three existences.' And in the Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness: 'Whatever conception of reality there is in things born from causes and conditions, that is said by the Teacher to be ignorance, from which the twelve branches arise.' Thus it is said. If, relying on the reasoning of preventing the first extreme explained in the Madhyamaka scriptures, one realizes the meaning of dependent origination as unborn, then the clinging to the self of the person will cease, and thus afflictions will not arise, and thus karma will not be accumulated, so the result, the entire aggregate of suffering, will cease. The Root Wisdom says: 'If ignorance ceases, then actions will not arise, the cessation of ignorance is by meditating on that with wisdom.' And in its commentary it says: 'By meditating on that dependent origination as it is, without perversion, ignorance will be completely abandoned.' Thus, whoever correctly sees dependent origination, then he will see that even the most subtle things have no self-nature.
