Because of the ground. If one accepts the deceptive wisdom, i.e., the state of ignorance, as true, then one must accept the name of deceptive truth. Therefore, these are the Consequentialists who divide conventional truth into correct conventional and incorrect conventional, which is divided into two from the aspect of truth and falsehood in relation to the world itself, not divided from the aspect of truth and falsehood in one's own system, and there is no distinction between establishing the names of the two systems of truth and falsehood in relation to the world itself. Therefore, in the Consequentialist system, the names of correct conventional and incorrect conventional, as stated by Lord Atiśa, will be explained below. The difference between the two is that the state of false appearance without harm from sudden causes of confusion is true, and the state of false appearance with harm from sudden causes of confusion is true. The examples are the consciousness with objects of the six senses without defects, and the consciousness with objects of the six senses with sudden defects. In this system, when the conventional is divided into two from the aspect of the object, it is also necessary to divide the subject. The difference between these two is divided from the aspect of what is known as truth and falsehood in the world, just as there is a difference between truth and falsehood for objects in the world, there is also a difference between truth and falsehood for subjects. If the object is the incorrect conventional of hair-net vision, then the subject, the mind that perceives hair-net vision, is also the incorrect conventional, which is acknowledged from the perspective of the object. If the self of a person (Pudgala) is the incorrect conventional, then the grasping of the self of a person is the incorrect conventional, which is not acknowledged from the perspective of the mode of grasping. Because the object of the innate grasping of the self of a person is the correct conventional person, it is necessary to acknowledge that the subject, the innate self-grasping, is also the correct conventional. And, for the imputed grasping of the self of a person, the object is the person fabricated by the tenets, which is the incorrect conventional, so it is necessary to acknowledge that the subject, the imputed self-grasping, is also the incorrect conventional. Although it is said that the example of the incorrect conventional of the mind's sense faculty with defects is the consciousness with objects established by the tenets of the outsiders, the Madhyamaka

It seems that this system must accept as false conventional truths such as the establishment as true of the consciousness of the two emptinesses of grasping and being grasped, which are posited by the tenets of the Mind-Only school and below, which are to be refuted by reason. This is because these are coemergent dharmas and imputational dharmas that are not persons, and because they are persons. If these were true conventional truths, then there would be the fault of the conventional truths that are the means of realizing the ultimate being true, and the fault of worldly things being true. Having explained the views of the teacher Chandrakirti, now we will explain the second meaning, the views of Jowo-je (Atisha, 982-1054) and his followers. In the "Entering the Two Truths," it says: Conventional truths are considered to be of two types: false and true. The first two are like a hair-moon and the conceptualizations of evil tenets. The law of birth and destruction, which is not examined, is pleasing, and which has the ability to perform meaningful actions, is considered to be a true conventional truth. It is said that, as the false is divided into two, the true must also be divided into two, so that what appears but cannot perform a meaningful action, like the moon in water, is a false conventional truth. This is one difference. Also, the true births, etc., posited by evil tenets are the opposite of the three, such as not being examined and being pleasing, and are false conventional truths, while the conventional truths of the Madhyamaka's own system have those three characteristics, so they are established as true conventional truths. This is another difference from the former, because the former is established by the way that each object is seen by the minds of each subject, while this is established by relying on the minds of each subject for the same object. On this, Geshe Tonpa said: Everything that appears to the minds of ordinary people below the highest of worldly dharmas becomes a false conventional truth, because it is established by false consciousness. In the appearance of false consciousness, there is no distinction between false and true, because both are false conventional truths, and neither can become the path, so the term "true" is not applied. All of the subsequent appearances of those above the first ground are called true conventional truths, because they are conventional truths because they are merely appearances and have not ceased, and because they directly see that they themselves are false, and because they themselves can become the path, so they are true conventional truths, he said.
