The support of which is the eye and so on. Sixth, the support of the mind consciousness, the Mind-Only school considers it to be the afflicted mind, and Geshe Marpa considers it to be the substance of the heart, but neither of these two accepts it, and because it cannot arise without a support, therefore, in order to establish the support of the sixth mind consciousness. These six consciousnesses, from the aspect of generating their own fruit, are separately listed as the mind realm, therefore the support is the six sense realms, the object is the six object realms, and the fruit is the six consciousness realms, totaling eighteen realms that determine the number. "Eighty-four thousand aggregates of Dharma," when speaking of this, other names included in the aggregates and sources are also summarized here, there are three ways: summarizing the aggregates of Dharma into the aggregates, incidentally explaining the number of aggregates of Dharma, and the way of summarizing other names. First, if the Sutra Pitaka mentions other names such as aggregates, sources, and realms, are they all included here? Or are they different? The answer is that they are all included here. The name of the aggregates, the aggregates of Dharma, the Hinayana school considers it to be eighty thousand, and the Mahayana school considers it to be eighty-four thousand. In the Abhidharmakosha, it is said: 'Venerable Ananda, as the Buddha's attendant for twenty-five years, personally received more than eighty thousand aggregates of Dharma from the Blessed One.' It also says: 'From a certain monk.' So, does this include all the teachings? It does not include them, because it is reasonable that the Buddha spoke more than four thousand teachings in fifty-five years. Moreover, the master Nagarjuna has the wisdom of knowing everything, and it is said that in the place where the Nagas live, on the way to go, there are scriptures whose names are not even known. In any case, all the aggregates of Dharma spoken to counteract afflictions such as attachment, according to the view of the Sutra school, initially it is the expression of the Buddha's words, and later it is the expression of the speaker's words, it is sound with its own characteristics, therefore it belongs to the form aggregate. According to the view of the Vaibhashikas, it is considered to be name, therefore it belongs to the aggregate of formations. Second, what is the quantity of each aggregate of Dharma? Some schools say: Shariputra's treatises are equal to the number of aggregates of Dharma, that is, six thousand shlokas, equal to the Hearer's Ground.

Other categories, each story of aggregates and sources, etc., being complete, is the measure of a Dharma aggregate. Therefore, no matter from which sutra the story is told, it is counted as eighty thousand. The measure of the teacher's own tradition is that, in order to counteract the behaviors of sentient beings such as desire, the Dharma aggregates are said to be in accordance with impurity, etc. Therefore, it is considered that each complete story of each antidote is the measure of a Dharma aggregate. Or, the antidotes to the three poisons and the equality of the three poisons, i.e., the four antidotes, are twenty thousand, i.e., eighty thousand, or twenty-one thousand each, i.e., eighty-four thousand. These are also definite numbers depending on the minds of those to be tamed. Third, just as the eighty thousand Dharma aggregates are condensed into the five aggregates, similarly, five liberation aggregates called aggregates arise. Among them, the aggregate of morality is non-learning, i.e., it is included in the form aggregate. Samadhi and wisdom and liberation are faith and the wisdom of seeing liberation, i.e., knowing exhaustion and non-arising, all of which are mental factors, so they are included in the aggregate of formation. As for those called sources, the sutra says: The five sources of liberation, namely, hearing, reciting in melody, explaining to others, contemplating the meaning of what is heard, and the wisdom arising from meditating on the signs of samadhi. Because practicing these becomes the gateway to the arising of liberation. All of these are wisdom, so they are included in the Dharma source. The eight overcoming sources and the first eight of the ten all-encompassing sources are undefiled mental factors, which are included in the Dharma source. If they are with retinues, there are five aggregates, so they are included by the two sources of mind and Dharma. The four formless sources are those with four aggregates, so they are included by the mind and Dharma sources. Those called realms are also called many realms. It is also said in the Great Dharma Mirror: Venerable one, by how much does one become skilled in the realms? Ananda, if one is skilled in the sixty-two realms, one is skilled in the realms. Summary: The realms such as the eye are eighteen, the four elements, space, and consciousness, the five feelings and ignorance, the desire realm, and harmful thoughts.
