The so-called "is valid," that is to say, as the general definition of validity, it also exists in the mind that grasps the light of a jewel as a jewel. If it relies on other connections between hidden things, then it will immediately be determined to be inference. Here too, how could there be a mistaken belief that the light of a jewel is a jewel from the very fruit of the connection of the light of the jewel? Therefore, the sutra says that this is actually an inference arising from the sign of the fruit. The second view is that the Adornment Master considers it to be direct perception. The Adornment Sutra says, "Therefore, for the light of a jewel, the knowledge that knows it as a jewel, at that time it is certainly direct perception, or it is certainly inference." It also says, "That is direct valid cognition, how could it be such an illusion? Non-deception is valid cognition, what doubt is there between illusion and non-illusion?" Thus, it is said that the view of recognizing it as direct perception includes the removal of doubts. The two commentaries say, "At that time, is it certainly direct perception?" This is one's own view. "Or is it certainly inference?" This is Shakyamati's view. Suryagupta also said, "Then, what is the valid cognition that knows the light of a jewel as a jewel? That is direct valid cognition. If so, how could direct perception become an illusion? That is not true, whether it is illusion or non-illusion, non-deception itself is valid cognition." The third view is that Dharmottara considers that the knowledge that grasps the light of a jewel as a jewel and the knowledge that grasps the light of a lamp as a jewel are the same as illusions, because they are the same in not achieving the meaning of the object of engagement, but he believes that in achieving the meaning of the object of engagement, there is a difference between being a basis for other valid cognitions and not being a basis. In the Nyayabindu it says, "For the light of a jewel and the light of a lamp, the knowledge that knows them as jewels, those as deceptive illusions themselves are not different, because neither of them obtains the object of engagement that is grasped." It also says, "Even though these are not different in deceiving their own objects, there is a difference between being a cause of knowledge and not being a cause of knowledge because of the reason for obtaining the ability to function, because one is indirectly related to the jewel." Second, regarding these three views

The first is unreasonable, because the inference that infers the existence of a jewel in that place from the sign of the jewel's light becomes the mind that grasps the jewel's light as a jewel. Because the mind that grasps in this way is an inference. If you accept that, then the inference that infers the existence of fire in a place with smoke from the sign of smoke becomes the mind that grasps smoke as fire. It is also not the intention of the scripture, because in response to the statement that "all inferences are mistaken, therefore they are not valid cognitions," it is irrelevant to state that "even though some parts of inference are mistaken, they are still valid cognitions." The second view is also unreasonable, because does the mind that grasps the jewel's light as a jewel refer to the sense consciousness that sees the jewel's light, or does it refer to the subsequent mind that grasps it as "this is a jewel"? If it is the former, it is unreasonable, because it does not grasp the jewel's light as a jewel, just as the sense consciousness that sees a patterned rope does not grasp the patterned rope as a snake. If it is the latter, it is also unreasonable, because it is a conceptual thought, which contradicts direct perception. It is also not the intention of the scripture, because it is irrelevant to state that "even though some parts of direct perception are mistaken cognitions, they are still valid cognitions" in response to the view that "all inferences are mistaken, therefore they are not valid cognitions." U Yukpa took this as the intention of the Ornament, and held that when a jewel is in a treasury and its light shines through a crack in the door, the sense consciousness that sees the jewel's light is a valid cognition that ascertains the jewel as other, and a valid cognition that ascertains the jewel's light as self. This view is also unreasonable, because that sense consciousness is not a valid cognition that ascertains the jewel as other, because it is not a valid cognition. The third view is reasonable when applied to the scripture, which will occur in the context of one's own system. The third is that when a jewel is in a treasury and its light shines through a crack in the door, a sense consciousness that sees the jewel's light arises, and that is direct perception, because it is a sense consciousness in which the object's own character sends its own image from its own side. When there is no cause for error, it is a valid cognition that ascertains the jewel's light as self, because at that time it can lead to a certainty that ascertains the jewel's light as the jewel's light by its own power. When there is a cause for error, it is a valid cognition that ascertains the jewel's light as other, because at that time it will lead to a mistaken cognition that grasps the jewel's light as a jewel. Certainty.
