It is the external object of the place of establishment. Its divisions are: from the perspective of the subject, there are two types of objects apprehended by sense perception and mental perception; from the perspective of the object, there are five: form, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Third, the definition of the object of attachment is: that which is to be known by attachment through the mind, which is the main way of grasping oneself. Its divisions are: the object of attachment of valid reasoning and the object of attachment of decisive knowledge. The first is: the objects of valid inference, etc. The second is: the object of the two valid cognitions themselves becomes the object of attachment of the decisive knowledge led by it, and so on. Fourth, the definition and classification of the object of engagement. If it is an object of engagement, then it is pervaded by being a self-characterised entity; there are three types of examination of whether or not it is pervasive. Some say that the first is not valid because it is said to be infallible when entering for the sake of accepting and rejecting. If it is an object of engagement, then it is pervaded by being an object with the result of accepting and rejecting, so all individuals enter. Because it is pervaded by being the object of engagement directly indicated in "is", that definition is reasonable. If you accept, then the object of engagement is pervaded by being a self-characterised entity. The self-system is: the object that is the basis for the action of the subject conforming to the meaning to enter. Others say: blue, that is the subject. It follows that it is the object of decisive knowledge led by the blue-grasping perception, because it is the object that is the basis for its action to enter. The answer is that it is not established, because the valid cognition has already acted on that blue before that decisive knowledge. The second is: from the perspective of the subject, the object of engagement is divided into three types as previously explained. The first type, the object of valid cognition, has two types: the object of perception and the object of inference. The first type, the object of sense perception, is the self-characterised entity of the external object, the object of self-awareness perception is the self-characterised entity of consciousness, and the object of yogic perception is the nature of phenomena, etc. The object of inference is the object to be proven by the correct sign, etc. The object of sound is like the self-characterised entity of a cow, which is the object of engagement of the sound conforming to the meaning of the word cow. The object of engagement of an individual is not separate from the previous ones, because it enters the object by relying on valid cognition and sound. The third type, some say: only things are the objects of entering and leaving, because they are able to benefit and harm, such as medicine and poison, etc.

It is like that. Similarly, "Measure one's own nature." And "Both valid cognitions are objects of entities." Also, in the autocommentary, it says, "Examining its proof is because it has an object that can perform a function. Knowing that it is the cause of happiness and suffering, one wants to abandon and cultivate, not because of hesitation." Because it is said so. Non-entities are not objects of entering and withdrawing, because they cannot bring benefit or harm. Like the son of a barren woman. Similarly, "If it cannot perform a function, what is the use of examining the search for meaning?" Because it is said so. They say that. Then, inferences based on negation should not have an object of entry. If it is an object of entry, it must be an entity. If there is no fault, like recognizing the absence of a vase in a place without a vase, when the basis of negation is an entity, the basis of negation itself is the object of entry. Like recognizing non-entities in the sky, when the basis of negation is not an entity, the entity of the negated phenomenon itself is the object of entry, or the apprehended aspect of the inference itself becomes the object of entry. If you say that, the first is unreasonable, because the inference that recognizes sound as impermanent has the fault of becoming a valid cognition for sound. Because the place purified by the vase, like before that inference, has already been made the object of entry by another valid cognition, it is meaningless for the inference that recognizes the place as without a vase to make it the object of entry. The second is also unreasonable, because the permanent entity has the fault of becoming the object of entry of the inference that recognizes sound as not a permanent entity. The third is also unreasonable, because the apprehended aspect of the inference has the fault of becoming obscure to that inference. If you also think so, then one's own mind being obscure to oneself will abide in the system of the debater. If one's own system is a valid cognition, then it pervades having an object of entry, and the meaning of the previous scriptures is referring to the object of entry and withdrawal of the universally conventional valid cognition. Then, what is the universally conventional valid cognition like? What is the valid cognition different from that like? The first is, the cause of entering and withdrawing from the ability to bring benefit and harm, becoming a valid cognition, is universally common to all, whether or not they have entered a philosophical system. The latter is those who have entered a philosophical system.
