For non-conceptual consciousness, there is no appearing object. But for conceptual thought, whether correct or not, there is an appearing object, because for itself, there is a real appearing exclusion of others. The apprehended object exists only for object-cognition direct perception. The object of clinging is a special dharma of conceptual thought, and only conceptual thoughts that agree with the meaning have an object of clinging, but for erroneous conceptual thoughts, there is none, for example, sound is permanent, although it is the object of clinging of the conceptual thought that holds sound to be permanent, it does not exist. The entering object exists in valid cognition and in those who agree with the meaning of the expressive sound, and in individuals. Fourth, the number of objects is fixed at four, namely, the entering object of non-conceptual consciousness, the entering object of valid conceptual thought, and three types divided by the way conceptual thought understands its own object. The first, for the consciousness of the object, is determined to be two types: the entering object of different substances and the entering object of the same substance as the consciousness of the object. The first is all three: the apprehended object, the appearing object, and the entering object. The second is the appearing object and the entering object. The entering object of valid conceptual thought is both the object of clinging and the entering object. Because the real object of the way conceptual thought understands the object is only the appearing object. Second, the classification of each of the four objects has four types, the first is the appearing object, which has two types: definition and division. First, some say that what is known from appearing is the definition of the appearing object, but others refute: a vase, as a dharma, should be the appearing object of the conceptual thought that holds the vase, because the conceptual thought that holds the vase is known from appearing. This accusation also exists. The self-view is that any object that appears in the way of giving form, or that appears directly without form. Second, the division is divided into two types: the appearing object of non-conceptual consciousness and the appearing object of conceptual thought. The first is divided into two types: becoming an appearing object in the way of giving form and becoming it in the way of not giving form. The first is like the apprehended meaning of object-cognition direct perception. The second is like the experienced object of self-cognition direct perception. The appearing object of conceptual thought, for example, the general characteristic that sound is impermanent is the appearing object of the conceptual thought that holds sound to be impermanent. It is said that the non-existent does not become an appearing object, which refers to things that are not measured through appearing. Second, the definition of the apprehended object is:
