Therefore, it is unreasonable to establish the result of establishment from the cause of establishment, because this alone cannot determine it as a sign of self-nature. Furthermore, the treatises such as "From the experience of one object" in the Chapter on Other's Benefit will become meaningless. Fourth, although the certainty of the non-existence of a pot is established through valid cognition, i.e., the pot is not seen by valid cognition, for those who do not understand what the non-existence of a pot refers to, it only establishes what it refers to, therefore it is merely established as a reason for establishing terminology. Second, regarding the reason of contradictory perception, there are two: definition and classification. First, what is the true non-apprehension of the perceptible? It refers to the establishment that can ascertain the non-existence of the object to be negated on the subject to be known, becoming a reason. Second, it is divided into two: the true reason of contradictory perception based on mutually exclusive contradiction, and the true reason of contradictory perception based on mutually exclusive contradiction. The first is further divided into three: definition, classification, and establishment. First, some say: What is the true reason of contradictory perception of that kind? It refers to the object of negation of that kind, which is also a common basis of existence that is mutually exclusive with you. Others say: Whatever is the object of negation of that kind, then it also exists, and the common basis of existence that is mutually exclusive with you pervades. Still others say: It is the same as others, if it is one with the knowable. First, on the eastern base pervaded by the power of fire, as the subject, there is no continuously existing strong cold sensation, because it is something pervaded by the power of fire. When this is established as the reason, that subject, becomes the fault of the latter part of the definition of that kind, because it is the object to be explained. If admitted, then that subject, becomes the fault of being a continuously existing strong cold sensation, and also a common basis of existence that is mutually exclusive with you, because it is admitted. If admitted, then that subject, becomes the fault of its non-existence, because there is no continuously existing strong cold sensation. Second, sound, as the subject, is empty of permanent reality, because it is produced. When this is established, that subject, becomes the object to be explained of that kind, because it is that definition. Discard the latter reason. Third, on the eastern base pervaded by the power of fire, as the subject,

If it is said that "The great force of cold is not constant, because it is an object that is pervasively suppressed by the great force of fire," then that dharma becomes the outer edge of the definition of that (cold). Because that is what is to be proven. If it is admitted, then that dharma becomes non-pervasive, because if it is one with knowable, then it pervades the absence of cold, because if it is one with knowable, then it pervades the absence of rabbit horns, because rabbit horns and the absence of cold are the same. What is the correct reason for the contradictory determination of one's own system? It is necessary to determine one's own pervasion relationship by relying on mutually exclusive non-coexistence. There are two types of classification: refutation and establishment. In the first, there are two types: refutation of the classification method and refutation of the method of stating the combination. In the first, Lotsen said that cold and the direct cause of cold, and the result of cold, goosebumps, and its pervasive object, such as the touch of a jellyfish, are to be refuted, and hot touch and its direct cause, and its direct result, and its pervasive object, such as sandalwood fire, are the refuters, so each of the refuters can refute all four of the refuted, so it is considered to be the sixteen reasons for contradictory determination. Those reasons for refuting the four related to cold by stating the direct cause of hot touch as the reason are unreasonable, because the direct cause of hot touch is firewood, etc., which causes fire to arise in its second moment, so if firewood is stated as the reason, it cannot be refuted. If what is distinguished by fire is stated as the reason, then fire becomes the refuter, so that is not the refuter, and the direct cause of hot touch is not constant, so the direct result is uncertain, so it cannot be determined. Likewise, in the Pramāṇavārttika, it says, "If the absence can be established by determining the contradictory result, then why can't it be established by determining its cause?" It is not so, because that is confused, for example, "There is no cold touch here, because there is firewood." From where do you understand the cause of that absence? Because those causes are uncertain to produce results, therefore it is not that the fire that can eliminate cold is not eaten. If it is said that there is no confusion in the difference of the final state, then it is not so, because the arising of the result from that is without stopping. Until the last moment, there is a possibility of obstacles to arising, but in the last moment, there is no obstacle, therefore, that reason
