Based on this, the third pramana-result, speaking according to the Sautrāntika school, is a reversed explanation of this teacher's intention. The view of the incomparable Sakya school is: the main aspects of pramana-result are the object-cognition (arthajñāna) and the self-cognition (svasaṃvedana) pramana-results, and for both of these, nominally, it is shown as the object-cognition result, and when analyzed, it is shown as the self-cognition result, in four situations. The first two are the main aspects of pramana-result, because here is the time to explain the proof of direct perception realizing its own character. The proof of the first two direct perceptions realizing the own-character of the object is the pramana-result of object-cognition, and the proof of the third direct perception realizing the own-character of consciousness is the pramana-result of self-cognition. And as for the yogic direct perception, the Sautrāntika school considers that it realizes the own-character of the aggregates devoid of self, therefore it does not go beyond the objects of the first two. In this school, the proof of realizing it is: yogic realization is inconceivable. And: having inconceivable wisdom, his knowledge cannot be measured. According to these statements, because here it does not show its pramana-result. Therefore, in these two, when the teacher, at the time of the object-cognition pramana-result, refutes the Vaibhāṣika school and establishes the Sautrāntika school, he says: Acting is accomplishing. From this sentence to: because of entering by superimposition. is the extent. Regarding the self-cognition pramana-result, first, the outline of the pramana-result that both the true and false aspects acknowledge is: refuting the Sautrāntika school and establishing the Vijñānavāda school, that is: What is the object-category? From this sentence to: these two aspects. is the extent. This outline, due to the reason that both the true and false aspects acknowledge, in the true-aspect school, when the apprehended aspect is established as truly measurable, the nature of self-cognition becomes the result; in the false-aspect school, when the apprehended aspect is considered falsely measurable, the imputation of self-cognition becomes the result. Thus it is said. For this, refuting the true-aspect school and establishing the false-aspect school, is shown by: If any entity is analyzed. from the following sentence onwards. For both of these, nominally, the way of becoming the object-cognition result, the Sautrāntika school shows it by the first pramana-result itself, where the object-cognition result

What is said is nominal, but when examined, it is the fruit of self-awareness, because of this. The view of the Vijnanavada school is: "When Vijnana becomes the object through its cause." And so on, three verses explain, in short, "Its own nature is determined by its function." This is the meaning of the root text and commentary. In the nominal terms of both schools, when examining the fruit of meaning and knowledge, the fruit of self-awareness is because: "Even if external objects exist, they are like that." And so on, it is explained, whether it is the same as that or different. Because it is said that there are two ways of establishing external objects as the object to be measured. This school seems to fully and without error embody the intention of Dignaga and Dharmakirti, so there are four points to follow and explain this: First, the valid cognition and result of meaning and knowledge are: "This is the agent of object and result, it is not different from the nature of the object. Therefore, the proof of the object to be measured is the nature of the object to be measured itself." And, "It holds its own nature," the words "object to be measured" and "object" in "by the knowledge of the object" indicate the object to be measured. The words "nature of the object," "nature of the object to be measured," and "nature of the object" indicate valid cognition. The words "knowledge of the object to be measured" and "knowledge of the object" indicate the result. Considering this, Dharmottara said: "The object is the object to be measured, what is similar to the object is valid cognition, the knowledge of the object is the result," this is the first point. So it is said. As for the object to be measured, whether it is an external object, or the color blue that has become an external object, or the hidden place of blue, or the color blue, there is no difference no matter which one is taken as the object to be measured. Here, when valid cognition is said to be the nature of the object and the nature of the object, it refers to the form given from the object's own side, and it is not taken literally. In the case of the result, it is not permissible to take the knowledge of the object to be measured and the valid cognition of the knowledge of the object literally, because these exist in inference. It is also unreasonable to make the valid cognition that actually knows the object the result, because in the view of the Sautrantika school, sense consciousness does not actually know the object. When the direct perception that knows the object is made the result, it is also unreasonable to establish non-conceptual, non-erroneous awareness as valid cognition, because this is the occasion for establishing that direct perception knows the object, not for establishing that direct perception is the establisher.
