Because it is said in the scriptures: The object that increases all afflictions when focused on me is the conventional truth. The object that increases purity when focused on what is the ultimate truth. The Madhyamaka school believes that the object grasped by the correct view is the nature of the ultimate truth, such as the object grasped by the Samadhi of the noble continuum. The object grasped by the false view is the nature of the conventional truth, such as the real object of the ordinary mind. As it is said in the "Entering the Middle Way": By seeing all things as false, one can grasp the two aspects of all things, the real is what is seen as it is, and the false is said to be the conventional truth. Third, from the perspective of the entering object, define and classify the manifest and the hidden. First is the definition, which is divided into what can be understood without relying on the general meaning and what can be understood by relying on the general meaning. The second is the classification, which is divided into manifest and hidden. The first is the classification of the manifest, which is divided into classification from the perspective of the object and classification from the perspective of the subject. First, from the perspective of the object, it is divided into two types: dharma characteristic and dharma nature. Dharma characteristic is divided into things and knowledge. From the perspective of the subject, it is divided into non-conceptual non-erroneous and non-conceptual erroneous. First, non-conceptual non-erroneous is divided into three types: object consciousness direct perception, self-consciousness direct perception, and yogic direct perception. The first is the five objects such as form. The second is all knowledge. The third is dharma nature and so on. The second is the double moon, which is manifest to the eye consciousness that sees the double moon. The second is the classification of the hidden, which is divided into object and subject. First, it is divided into three types as before. The first is the vase, which is hidden to the conceptual mind that grasps the vase. Knowledge is the knowledge of one's own continuum, which is hidden to those who do not have clairvoyance of others' minds. Dharma nature is hidden to ordinary people. From the perspective of the subject, it is divided into inference and non-validity. First, inference is divided into self-powered inference, belief inference, and fame inference, etc., which are hidden.

The three hidden things are like the subject to be proven of those three reasons. Secondly, regarding decisiveness, wrong knowledge, and doubt, there are three types of hiddenness. The first is: blue is the definite knowledge brought about by the root consciousness that apprehends blue, like being hidden. The second is: sound is permanent, like being hidden to the conceptual thought that grasps sound as permanent. The third is: sound is either permanent or impermanent, like being that to the manifest doubt of the doubter who doubts in that way. Therefore, if non-conceptual wrong knowledge is manifest, it is not pervasive of being manifest; if conceptual wrong knowledge is hidden, it is not pervasive of being hidden, because for the appearing object of non-conceptual wrong knowledge, it is not pervasive of existence; for the object of attachment of conceptual wrong knowledge, it is not pervasive of existence. For doubt being hidden, the aspects that abide in reality are hidden, and the other aspect is not hidden. Fourth, from the perspective of the way of entering, there are two types: self and general. There are two aspects: definition and division. The first is in order: things that abide without mixing in place, time, and nature, and imputations that appear common in place, time, and nature. Or things that do not abide in common, and imputations that appear common, as it is said in the Pramāṇaviniścaya: That is the nature of things that abide in non-common, it is its own definition. It can be understood from the two ways of direct and indirect that are spoken of. Second, if divided from the perspective of self-character, there are two types of self-character: object and consciousness. The first has two types: external object matter and internal object matter. The first has the five external sense sources such as form. The second has the five internal sense sources such as the eye. If divided from the perspective of consciousness self-character, there are the six aggregates of consciousness with their retinues. If divided from the perspective of general character, the ancient Tibetans said that there are two types of general character: the general character of negation without exclusion and the general character of mental exclusion of others, but what is explained in the treatises is that there are three types of general character: things, non-things, and those that depend on both, because: since it depends on both things and non-things, therefore the general character also has three aspects. Also, it can be divided into four types: the general character that distinguishes differences in one, the general character that gathers differences into one, the general character that appears as one in one, and the general character that appears as different in different. How to divide that in exclusion of others
