Furthermore, among the three that have neither benefit nor harm, the first is to establish mutually exclusive contradiction, such as hot and cold. The second is to establish a relationship of arising from that, such as fire and smoke. The third is without any contradictory relationship, such as blue and yellow. Among them, regarding the definition of contradiction, it is said that "whatever dharma harms another dharma," this is only a rough outline that has not been distinguished on the basis. If distinguished on the basis, then whatever dharma harms another dharma, that is the definition of being contradictory to that other dharma. Some say that the third, in logical treatises, sometimes it is said that blue and yellow, etc., are contradictory, is this contradictory? It is not contradictory, because just as calling a cow related to a horse "a cow related to a horse," it is merely calling what is impossible to be mutually other as contradictory. Also, some say that that definition is not reasonable, because it is impossible to establish contradiction on one dharma. Therefore, that which becomes the harmed and the harmer is the definition of contradiction, because establishing contradiction requires two dharmas. They say this. Then, if heat and moisture are established as the definitions of fire and water, what can prevent it? If it is said to be unreasonable, because heat does not pervade water, moisture does not pervade fire, these two do not exist together, if definitions are established separately, then the signified will also change separately. Then, for the former it is also the same, the harmer does not pervade the harmed, these two do not exist together, if definitions are established separately, then the signified will also change separately. Furthermore, that which becomes the benefactor and the benefited becomes the definition of cause and effect, etc., endless things can be said. The key point is that just as taking smoke as an example, it is established as related to fire, it is necessary to take the harmer as an example, and establish it as contradictory to the harmed. Regarding this, if not taken on one basis, but only grasped in a general way, then there are three types: mutually harmed and harmer, only harmer, and only harmed. Among them, the first type is like permanence and impermanence, etc. The second type is like the wisdom that realizes selflessness, which is only a harmer to self-grasping. The third type is like the opposite of this. It is impossible for the harmed and harmer to be mutually on one basis, on a vase

Because permanent phenomena cannot harm impermanent phenomena, just as in the sky impermanence cannot harm permanence. This is what I understand. Second, classifying from the perspective of characteristics, there are two types: mutually exclusive co-existence and mutually exclusive abandonment. The first has four points: the definition of mutually exclusive co-existence, the place where the contradiction exists, the time when the harmed is eliminated, and the valid cognition that determines the contradiction. First, some say that the definition of mutually exclusive co-existence is: the harmed and the harmer existing on two objects. This statement is unreasonable because the collection of the harmed and the harmer does not exist, and if established separately, it is not all-pervasive like the definition of cause and effect. Therefore, according to our own system, the place where the contradiction exists, the definitions are separately established for the harmed and the harmer, and the definition of mutually exclusive co-existence existing on them is established, which is the view of Manjushri. That is, not arising dependent on its own continuum, but arising powerless due to the proximity of other phenomena, this is the definition of the harmer that is the basis of mutually exclusive co-existence. Not arising dependent on the continuum, and causing others to arise powerless, this is the definition of the harmer that is the basis of mutually exclusive co-existence. Any phenomenon that harms the existence of other phenomena, that phenomenon and that other phenomenon are the definition of mutually exclusive co-existence. If classified, there are two types: mutually exclusive co-existence that is the nature of mind, and mutually exclusive co-existence that is the nature of things. The first is like definite cognition and superimposition. The second is like hot touch and cold touch. Second, mutually exclusive co-existence does not reside on things that have the same essence and whose opposites do not exist as entities, because both the harmed and the harmer of mutually exclusive co-existence must exist as entities. Third, if hot touch and cold touch meet in the first moment, then it is not mutually exclusive co-existence, and if they are destroyed immediately after meeting, then the harmed and the harmer will arise simultaneously, if this is questioned. The answer to this is, among the three of refutation, establishment, and abandonment, the first, some say that between the three moments of completing the abandonment and the antidote, they co-exist, and in the third moment the continuum of what is to be abandoned disappears. Some say that from now on, the abandonment and the antidote are like the Vajra-like Samadhi.
