Because you are a valid cognition (pramāṇa, प्रमाण, प्रमाण, valid cognition), it is unreasonable to establish selflessness from you, because you yourself are not a valid cognition. Furthermore, even if you say that because there is no concordant side with self, life and so on do not separate, then life and so on, as subjects, should be doubted as to whether they separate from the concordant side with self, because there is doubt as to whether the concordant side with self exists itself. If you think so, then life and so on, as subjects, will also be doubted as to whether they separate from the discordant side without self, that is, separation will not be established by valid cognition, because it is not established by valid cognition whether the concordant side with self exists or not. This is pervasive, for example, among the two categories of things like self and no-self, if it is definitely established that something like the concordant side with self exists on one thing, then it can be established that it separates from something like no-self, but otherwise it cannot. If it is said that life and so on are not seen in the distinction of no-self, such as vases, etc., therefore it is established that they exist in self and separate from no-self, then life and so on, as subjects, even if they are not seen in some of the seen no-self, such as vases, etc., it cannot be definitely established that they do not exist in all no-self just because of that, because even if they are not seen in those things, there is doubt as to whether they exist or not in some unseen no-self. This is pervasive, because not seeing that dharma in some of that kind does not necessarily mean that that dharma does not exist in some of that kind, because although that dharma is not pervasive in all kinds of things, it is possible that that thing exists in some things that belong to that kind, for example, although the characteristic of hardness is seen in diamonds, etc., which cannot be cut by weapons, it is also seen that wood, etc., which belong to the same kind of hardness, can be cut by weapons. Fourth, there are two reasons for the error of separation of life and so on: separation is mistaken due to the lack of certainty of contradiction, and separation is mistaken due to the lack of certainty of connection. The first has two parts: the real reason for no separation, and even if it exists, it cannot be established as having self. The first is: life and so on, as subjects, from where do they separate from the doubt of existence or non-existence in the discordant side without self? They will not separate, because there is no valid cognition that sees contradiction with existence in no-self. If it is said that even if it is not directly contradictory, the pervasive self and no-self of life and so on are contradictory, therefore life and so on are

If asked, in what way is it contradictory and through what way is it contradictory? Things like life, as being pervasive of self, are contradictory to selflessness, which is unreasonable. Because it is neither the fruit of self, nor the self, nor one with the self. Percept: If being contradictory to selflessness also exists, then in some cases, either it is the fruit of self, or I must be myself, what else could there be? There is nothing else. Therefore, things like life here are the subject, there is doubt about returning from selflessness, that is, there is doubt about returning from selflessness, which is not established. Because for things that exist on selflessness, there is neither direct contradiction nor indirect contradiction. Second, things like life return from selflessness, and the living body has things like life, so even if it is allowed to return from selflessness, the living body is the subject, the reason why you do not have selflessness cannot establish that you have self. What is the reason? Because the knowing one does not think that on some bases, if a certain dharma does not return, it must become a thing, that is, that dharma exists. For example, things like life do not return on the similar side, but it is not considered to exist on the similar side. If the premise is that the reason, things like life, are the subject, and are followers on the similar side. Because there is no reason to return from the similar side. If it is not pervasive, the living body is the subject, you cannot establish that you have self just because you are not selfless. Because on some bases, even if a certain dharma does not return, that base will not become a follower of that dharma. The second is divided into two: returning depends on the certainty of the connection. Because there is no determiner, the return is wrong. First: The correct reason is the dharma, the certainty of following and returning depends on the certainty of the connection. Because you exist, that is, exist in yourself, its pervasiveness exists, and if its pervasiveness does not exist, the connection that itself does not arise is established, therefore, because of that reason, if the pervasiveness itself returns, then itself also returns. Because when itself exists, it is also understood that its pervasiveness exists. The correct sign is the dharma, and the connection between the dharma to be established by itself and the dharma that does not arise without it also depends on the valid measure of establishment, even if there is a connection,
