There is no difference. This is the fault of not understanding both the literal and implied meanings. Fifth, if someone asks: Then, for the example of the nature sign that includes two situations in the similar class, is it necessary to explain it separately? Answer: When explaining the difference between the subject and the property, for the property, it is not necessary to separately explain the example of the nature sign that includes two situations in the similar class, because the example produced through effort has already explained the example of the effect sign, and it has also explained the example of the nature sign relying on one aspect of the similar class. Therefore, the thing produced through effort can represent both the proof sign that includes two situations in the similar class and the effect sign, because the clear hearing produced through effort is the effect sign, and being produced from effort is the nature sign, in order to explain that you are similar examples in both aspects. Second, someone asks: In this case, what is the necessity of dividing the effect and nature into two reasons? Answer: In this case, it is necessary to explain the reasons for the effect and nature separately, because it exists in the effect, and it will not arise without its own cause, that is, the connection with the dharma to be proven and what arises from it has been established, or the thing that is not different from the dharma to be proven that has become the nature of the sign itself, that is, the connection with it and the same entity is for the purpose of knowing that it will not be confused with the dharma to be proven. It is necessary to explain that the two, effect and nature, are not confused with those who have cause and nature, because for those who have and gather, etc., as signs, there is no such relationship of the same entity arising from it, and those may be confused, so in meaning it is not a correct reason. If there is a relationship of the same entity arising from those, then the reason for those who have, etc., it is meaningless to admit other relationships from you to recognize what you want to prove, because the relationship of the same entity arising from it is itself the proof from you to recognize what you want to prove, because the sign-dharma relationship is certain, and if there is no dharma to be proven, the sign will not arise, and such a relationship is not a proof if it is not determined by valid cognition.

Ro. Secondly, there are three parts to explaining the distinctions of audible phenomena in detail: refuting the establishment of the opposite of life; therefore, showing that audible phenomena are the same as life; and applying this principle to other similar things. The first part has three: refuting by examining whether there is a connection or not; refuting by examining the dissimilar aspects; and refuting by examining the meaning of the refutation. The first part has three: because there is no connection, there is no opposite; eliminating contradictions with the scriptures; and refuting the proof of the establishment of the opposite. The first is: the Lokayata and Vaisheshika schools say, "A living body is possessed of a self, because it possesses life, etc." For this argument, even if there is no concomitance, it is a valid sign because it is a single pervasive opposite that only turns away from the dissimilar side and has the property of the subject. In order to prevent this view, the teacher mentioned audible phenomena in the case of the subject. Therefore, the first refutation is that life, etc., as the subject, should be said to have an established connection with the probandum, the self, without which it does not arise. The opposite of non-self only from the dissimilar side is necessarily the sign of certainty. Pervasive: because the infallible opposite of the non-self opposite does not exist for those who have no connection with the self. If it is admitted, then life, etc., as the subject, should have a subsequent existence in the similar aspect of establishing the living body as having a self. Because the connection with the self is established. In particular, in the case of establishing the living body as having a self, life, etc., as the subject, should not have the pervasive opposite, nor should there be the pervasiveness of the subsequent existence. Because there is no connection between the sign and the subject. Pervasive: if the probandum is established by valid cognition as the self of the sign itself, or the connection of the self of the sign-subject, or the object of the cause of the sign, then the opposite can be established. Because it is not otherwise. The second is: then how does the teacher explain that the special sign turns away from both the similar and dissimilar aspects? Dharmakirti, considering the establishment of the pervasive opposite, did not say that the uncommon sign turns away from both aspects. Based on the tenet that the opposite is established simply because it is not seen in both aspects, audible phenomena, etc., are also because they are not seen in both aspects.
