Those statements that do not rely on valid cognition are the subject of the proposition. Because you are a valid statement, you do not extend to harming the object of adherence to a self-contradictory vow, because you are a valid statement, and previously you yourself are the refutation. Secondly, for the subject of the proposition established by the force of things, since statements are not harmful, therefore, for those who promise the subject of the proposition established by statements and analyze the Dharma on it, if the proposition contradicts the valid statement, then this fault of the valid statement harming should be accepted, because this is the occasion for analyzing the characteristics on the subject of the proposition established only by statements. Thirdly, for the subject of the proposition established by statements, since the valid statement is the harmer of the object of adherence to a self-contradictory vow, therefore, the mind that relies on the promised pure statement, in terms of promising as a valid statement, is not outside of inference, because in this regard, there is no valid cognition that harms the object of adherence to a self-contradictory vow that is manifest. Even so, in short, distinguishing between the inference of reliance and the inference of the force of things is the subject of the proposition. It is necessary, because the inference of the force of things is the harmer of the subject of the proposition established by the force of things, and the inference of reliance is the harmer of the subject of the proposition established by statements, in order to show the difference in such objects. If these two are not distinguished from the perspective of the object, but only distinguished by relying on different signs, then, in short, when explaining the refutation of valid cognition here, it is the subject of the proposition. Then there is the fault of being too extreme in thinking that the refutation based on the signs of effect, self-nature, and non-apprehension should be distinguished, because these three inferences rely on different signs. Also, the inference of reliance is the subject of the proposition. It becomes meaningless to distinguish it from the inference of the force of things, because for distinguishing it from that, there is no need to show the difference in objects, and there is no other need. Secondly, if the need to distinguish the words of the statement is like this, then what is the need to distinguish one's own words? In the Compendium, distinguishing one's own words from the force of things is also the subject of the proposition. It is necessary, because merely stating the words of a non-valid person, the force of things mutually hinders, and merely one's own words contradict.

Because it is to know that language is not the harm, but fact is the harm. This also accomplishes the distinction of language, as it says in the Pramāṇaviniścaya, "From the distinction of language," and Gyalwang Losang said, "From the distinction of language, it is only oneself who separately places some meanings of the other's language with a door, and then the latter destroys this meaning, therefore it contradicts the scriptures. For example, the Vaiśeṣika says that sound is permanent." If the language itself contradicts its own meaning, that is self-contradictory, for example, saying "Inference is not a valid cognition." It is also said in the Treasury of Logic, "The master considers it to be the distinction of language." Thus it is said. The third part has three points: If language harms everything, then it is too much. Distinguish whether the object harmed by language is true or not. Explain the necessity of studying the meaning of language. The first point is: Since the debater has already promised that the treatise is valid cognition, therefore it itself is valid cognition. Therefore, if language is harmful to all objects proven by language and fact, which are the objects of attachment to the promise that contradicts language itself, then, language as the subject, if it was previously promised that language is valid cognition and harm, and later the debater does not consider it to be valid cognition and harm, is language harm or not harm? Because language is recognized as valid cognition by the debater, it produces valid cognition and harm. If that is the case, then the debater's own words are contradictory, because at that time the former harms the latter. For the subject proven by the power of fact, the promise that contradicts the previously promised treatise, as the subject, becomes indistinguishable from contradicting the debater's own words and obstructing, because it contradicts one's own words. If you admit it, then my claim is established. Furthermore, language as the subject, is completely valid cognition, but it is not valid cognition, which is too much, because it is considered valid cognition merely because it is recognized as valid cognition by the individual's intention. The second point is: For the subject proven by the power of fact, language is not harmful, therefore, for the meaning that is extremely famous for direct perception and inference, when studying the subject, as the subject, even if the treatise is abandoned as proof, there is no fault of not accomplishing the desired meaning, because even without relying on language, the power of fact
