The aggregates of actions are seen as their own characteristics, but not as seeing the negation of self or the meaning of non-affirming negation. Therefore, in this treatise, there are two instances: one is the occasion for establishing the meaning of seeing without mixing with speech as being free from conceptualization; the other is the occasion for establishing that the true meaning of the guru of yogis is seen. There are three aspects to this: stating the basis of arising from meditation, establishing the nature of being free from conceptualization, and explaining the conceptualization to be abandoned. First: If asked, are all the knowledge of the Yoga Tantra direct perception of Yoga? Answer: The knowledge of a yogi, that is, the four noble truths explained in the previous second chapter, is the mind with clear appearance arising from meditating on the sixteen aspects such as impermanence, is the subject, is the direct perception of Yoga, because by the power of meditating on the true meaning, it is the mind that clearly appears the true meaning. The second has four: establishing that clear appearance arises from habituation, establishing non-conceptualization through clear appearance, there is also clear appearance in what is not true, distinguishing whether it is valid or not and explaining it. First: The mind that meditates on the four noble truths, when habituation reaches its limit, the meaning of habituation appears as clear, because when habituation reaches its limit, the net of understanding of the meaning of habituation will be completely eliminated. For example, the delusion caused by desire, fear, and sorrow, that is, based on the delusion and habituation of dreams of thieves, etc., by the power of habituation, just like being in front of you, even the object of non-true desire, etc., will clearly appear. Second, if asked: Even if clear appearance is achieved by the power of meditation, how can it be non-conceptual? Answer: Direct perception of Yoga, there is no conceptualization of the true meaning, because the true meaning is clearly apparent. The pervasion is: the mind related to conceptualization is not the meaning that it conceptualizes clearly apparent. If you say that there is also clear appearance in conceptualization, because the knowledge of dreams is conceptual, but its own object clearly appears. Answer: The conceptualization of memory in dreams is not the object that it conceptualizes clearly apparent, because relative to that object, the meaning of that clear appearance

When it is adulterated with what is untrue, it is for the sake of remembrance. Thirdly, if you want clarity to arise in all familiarity, if you think that yogic direct perception is clear about the true meaning, it contradicts the above. Answer: Clarity can also arise from meditating on untrue meanings, such as impure things like skeletons, and decaying things like earth and water. The power of repeatedly meditating on untrue meanings will produce illusion, that is, the arising of non-conceptual consciousness, and it is established by valid cognition that it has clarity. Therefore, whether it is the true meaning, such as selflessness, or the untrue meaning, such as decaying earth, whatever object becomes extremely familiar, when meditation is complete, the meaning of what is meditated on will appear, and non-conceptual wisdom will arise as a result, because the basis is stable, familiarity will naturally transform into something special, and the meaning of what is meditated on is the wisdom of what is meditated on. Fourthly, from the familiarity with true and untrue meanings, clarity and non-conceptuality arise. Regarding this, the wisdom of clarity that arises from meditating on the reality of the four noble truths as described in the second chapter is direct perception, because for the true meaning, it is wisdom that is free from conceptualization and is not deceptive. The samadhi of the remaining decaying earth, etc., although it is non-conceptual, is not yogic direct perception, because it is close to falsehood, that is, it is wrong. Thirdly, in short, the sutra says: 'Discrimination is also considered self-awareness. It is not so for the object, because it is discrimination.' Explaining this meaning, if all four direct perceptions are free from discrimination, then can discrimination itself become any of the four direct perceptions? If so, it contradicts the statement that all four direct perceptions are non-discriminatory. If not, it contradicts the statement that attachment, etc., are self-aware. Answer: Discrimination can also become self-aware direct perception in its own nature, but for this, it is not discrimination. For the object that discrimination is directed towards, it has not become direct perception, so there is no contradiction. Thus, any consciousness, for any object, if it is grasping sound and meaning, then for that object it is not direct perception, because for any object, if it is grasping sound and meaning, then for that object it is discrimination. Again, that dharma
