Consciousness and wisdom do not arise solely from the body, independent of prior similar existences. If they did, stones and the like would also produce mind, which is excessive. Since the wisdom of this life is seen to have the capacity to connect with previous and subsequent lives, what further reason is there? Since there is no reason, why would one assume that ordinary people at the time of death do not connect with the next life? Because the reason is the same. The ancients took the first sentence as a summary and then elaborated, saying: If there is no previous life, it is excessive. Reason proves that there is a future life. The reason for doing so is that in this context of cultivating familiarity with the object of compassion, proving the future life is the main point. Below, when proving that the basis of the truth of suffering is the cyclic aggregates of appropriation, proving the previous life is the main point, but this difference was not distinguished. Furthermore, they did not understand the way the scriptures combine, elaborating on the excessiveness of "where there is heat and moisture," and elaborating on the connection of "the final mind." The second part is divided into two: elaborating on the reasoning of excessiveness, and elaborating on the lack of contradiction in connection. The first part is divided into three: If it arises from the body of the elements, it is excessive. If it arises from the body with power, it is excessive. If it arises from the permanent body, it is excessive. The first case is: If you say that there is no fault of excessive arising of mind from stones, etc., because some elements are the seeds of mind, etc., and some are not. Then, all the elements should become the nature of the seeds of mind, etc. If other conditions are met, then in any place, heat, moisture, etc., will not become the land where beings are born. Therefore, all lands, etc., will become the nature of the seeds of mind, etc. Therefore, if the senses, etc., do not depend on the previous similar kind, but are elements, then how can one element be completely transformed like the senses, and all elements will change? Because there is no reason to distinguish. The second part is divided into three: If refuted, then the cause and effect relationship is established. Refuting the contradiction of the scriptural authority related to this. If proven by reason, then it violates the commitment. The first case is: body and mind

If one considers the physical body as the direct support of the mind, then one must consider the body, including the senses, as the direct support of the mind. In that case, the mind, having the property, is not the knowledge that directly relies on the eyes and other senses, because if each of the eyes and other senses is harmed by obstacles, you will not be directly harmed. The eyes and other senses, also having the property, are dependent on your mind, because if this mind is changed by sorrow and the like, you will be seen as changing. Because the senses depend on the mind. One with a body, having the property, your previous mind produces the later senses, because the support in which your later mind dwells, precisely relying on some actions of the previous mind, is the cause of the later senses. Therefore, if such an action relying on the previous mind becomes the impeller of the later senses, then later, that is, at the time of death, having the property, the occurrence of the senses arising from the mind will change here, because its collection of causes is complete and without obstacles. In the 'Treatise on Reasoning,' it says, 'The collection of causes is complete and without obstacles, by its signs, the endless future is accomplished.' This is the meaning here. Second, if someone asks: Then, the body and mind are mutually compliant, does this contradict the sutra that says so? Such a sutra, having the property, does not say that the mind directly depends on the body, because the body helps the body's knowledge, and the body's knowledge helps the mind, therefore the mind is said to depend on the body indirectly. Third, if someone says: The senses are the direct support of the mind, because without the senses, the mind will not arise. Then, this mind, having the property, you should also be the direct support of the senses, because without you, the senses will not arise. If one accepts this, then both the mind and the senses, having the property, should be mutual causes and effects after death, because they are mutual causes at the time of death. The third point is divided into two parts: refuting the overly extreme reasoning, and negating by admitting the mistake. First point: If the materialist admits that the mind arises from the permanent body, then the body, having the property, the mind will not arise sequentially from you, because you are the non-sequential permanent.

Because of this. Secondly, if it is not pervasive, the body is permanent, because it depends on causes and conditions to generate gradual mind, if you say so. The body, the subject, should also not depend on causes and conditions, because it is not the causes and conditions that can make it have differences. If you say that relying on gradual wisdom, wisdom can also be gradually generated from the permanent body, so there is no fault. The body, the subject, should also become clear in its order, that is, the order of before and after. Because it depends on gradual wisdom and becomes the cause of generating gradual mind. If you admit it, the embodied one, the subject, the previous moment of your body and mind, should become the cause of the next moment that did not exist before, because your body and mind are a continuous sequence with before and after. If you admit it, the embodied one, the subject, the previous moment of body and mind is the cause of the next moment of body and mind, then at all times, you should also see it at the last moment of death, because the previous moment of your body and mind is the cause of the next moment of body and mind. If you admit it, the next life will be established. Secondly, there are three points to explain in detail that the connection is not contradictory: the sign of the dying mind is uncertain. The example of that is devoid of nature. Refuting the establishment of non-emptiness. First: The Charvaka says, the mind of the ordinary person at the last moment of death, the subject, does not connect with the consciousness of the next life, because it is the dying mind, like the dying mind of an Arhat, if you say so. The last mind at the time of death, the subject, your reason for establishing that the last mind of an ordinary person at the time of death does not connect with the consciousness of the next life is not a correct reason, because your mind connects with other minds, which contradicts the valid cognition, what is there? Because there is none. Second: The mind of the Arhat at the time of death, that is also the subject, your example of establishing that the mind of an ordinary person at the time of death does not connect with the consciousness of the next life is not a correct example, from which valid cognition do you think there is no connection? Because there is no valid cognition to establish it. Third, there are two: refuting what is established by the Buddhist scriptures. Refuting what is established by the Charvaka's own reasoning. First: Buddhist, from your famous school as an example, if you say so. Charvaka, the subject, from the Buddhist school, the dying mind of the Arhat connects
