The cognition of the general image of blue is a valid cognition because it is the manifestor of an object not previously known, since it is the cognition of a general image not previously known by direct perception. If you argue that, that subject, even if it is a newly cognized general image of blue, will not become the manifestor of an object not previously known, because whatever is newly cognized, whether its own characteristic exists or not, is the characteristic of a valid cognition, because that is the intention and meaning of that characteristic. Why? Because, the characteristic itself, if it is a conventionally established valid cognition, then it is necessary to know whether you exist or not, because the ascertainment that arises from it will investigate whether you exist or not. Third, the Bhagavan is a valid person, because he is a person who possesses the nature of not deceiving those to be trained. Most Tibetans explain it as having both characteristics, because the earlier treatises identified the meaning of valid cognition in the homage of the sutra, and the later treatises did not understand the meaning of avoiding contradiction with other treatises. Second, there are three points to explain the necessity of mentioning "becoming": "Becoming" is mentioned to refute self-origination, it is established that valid cognition depends on means, and a detailed explanation of refuting self-origination. First, even if praising as "valid cognition" is sufficient, why is "becoming" mentioned? In the homage of the sutra, it is said that "becoming" itself is necessary, because it is for the purpose of refuting the existence of self-originated valid cognition that does not arise from its own cause. Second, the Bhagavan should be considered a valid cognition depending on diligence in the non-perverted cause of proof, because any valid person has already refuted self-originated valid cognition. Third, there are four points: refuting permanent self-originated valid cognition, refuting impermanent self-originated valid cognition, refuting the proof of the existence of self-origination, and refuting the activity of self-origination itself. First, it is unreasonable to mention "becoming" for the purpose of refuting permanent valid cognition, because Ishvara is a permanent valid cognition established by its own nature. If you think so, Ishvara is not a permanent valid cognition, because only the realization of an existent thing is valid cognition, and because the object of knowledge is impermanent, the cognition with an object is unstable.

If the valid cognition (ཚད་མ་, pramāṇa) is impermanent, then the person possessing valid cognition (ཚད་མ་ཅན, pramāṇavat) is permanent, and valid cognition arises from that (person), if you say so. Then, those valid cognitions that arise sequentially are the subject (ཆོས་ཅན, dharmin). It is not reasonable for them to arise from a permanent person, because it is unreasonable. Because that permanent person, you (the opponent) consider not to depend on conditions for arising, because that which is permanent cannot be benefited by any aspect of conditions. The second case is, if the Lord (དབང་ཕྱུག་, īśvara) is impermanent, established by its own nature, and is a valid cognition that exists at all times, if you say so. Then, such a Lord is the subject. You (the Lord) cannot be consistent with the term "existence is certain," because there is no valid cognition that proves your (the Lord's) existence. The third (part) has two: stating the assertion, and refuting it. The first (part) is that the non-existence of the valid cognition that proves the Lord is not established, because the world's places, bodies, enjoyments, etc., are the subject. They are preceded by a person with excellent intelligence, because they abide and enter, like a house. Because they possess distinct shapes, like a palace. Because they are capable of performing functions, like an army. Etc., those that possess number and measure, etc., are the reasons for proving it, and the person with excellent intelligence is none other than the Lord, if you say so. The second (part) has two: refuting by examining the meaning to be proven, and refuting by examining the means of proving. The first (part) is that abiding, entering, etc., are the subject. The world's places being preceded by a person with excellent intelligence as the reason for proving is not correct, because if it is merely proven that the world's places are preceded by the intelligence of a person, then in the manner of "the world arises from various actions," the Buddhist's assertion is established, that is, it becomes something already established that is to be proven. If it is proven that it is made by the Lord, then the example is not established. The second (part) has four: showing that the means of proving in general is mistaken, refuting by examining the specific shaped (reason), in that way, other similar things are also excluded, and through that (exclusion), explaining the remaining meaning of the established. The first (part) is, or, abiding, entering, etc., are the subject. You (the opponent) doubt the pervasion of the world's places being made by the Lord, because for it (the world's places), the Lord himself is uncertain. The second (part) has two:
