If it is said that even if valid cognition is impermanent, the person who possesses valid cognition is permanent, and valid cognition arises from that (person), then, the valid cognitions that arise in sequence are the subject. It is unreasonable for them to arise from a permanent person, because it is unreasonable. Because that permanent person should not rely on the conditions that produce you, because that permanent (person) cannot be benefited by any form of condition. Second, if it is said that the independent one is impermanent, established by its own nature, and always exists, it is valid cognition, then, such an independent one is the subject. You cannot match the meaning of the term 'existence is certain,' because there is no valid cognition to prove your existence. Third, there are two: stating the assertion and refuting it. First, it is not established that there is no valid cognition to prove the independent one, because the world's places, bodies, enjoyments, etc., are the subject. They are preceded by a person with excellent intelligence, because they dwell and enter, like a tent. Because they possess distinctive shapes, like a palace. Because they have the ability to function, like an army. And so on, possessing numbers and measures, etc., these are the reasons for establishing the cause, and the person with excellent intelligence can only be the independent one, if you say so. Second, there are two: refuting by examining the meaning to be established, and refuting by examining the establisher. First, dwelling, entering, etc., are the subject. The reason for establishing that the world's places are preceded by a person with excellent intelligence is not correct, because if it is merely established that the world's places, etc., are preceded by the intelligence of a person, then in the manner of "the world arises from various actions," the Buddhist's assertion is established, that is, it becomes establishing what has already been established. If it is established that it was made by the independent one, then the example is not established. Second, there are four: showing that the general establisher is confused, refuting by examining the specific shape, in that way also refuting other similar types, and thereby explaining the remaining meaning of the establishment. First, or dwelling, entering, etc., are the subject. You doubt the pervasiveness of the establishment that the world's places were made by the independent one, because in that (place) it is not certain that it was made only by the independent one. Second, there are two:

Refutation based on the meaning of shape. Refutation based on the name of shape. The first has three: The specific shape does not exist, as it appears. Merely the same shape is uncertain, as it appears. If this method is applied to other things, the result is the same. The first case is: If the thing with the characteristics of shape is a shape made by a person, then, blessing, that is, the shape of the stupa, etc., which changes according to the presence or absence of the author, whatever the dharma is, you are not established as the dwelling place, etc. are made by a person, if the dwelling place, etc., are extremely established as the subject in you, then, from that reason, inferring that the dwelling place, etc., are made by a person, whatever it is, even if it is logic, because the dwelling place, etc., are not established as the subject in you. The second case is: If it is not different from that only in shape, then, the created thing different from the non-human-made thing, the stupa, etc., that shape which is extremely established as made by a person, and the sound of shape is the same in application, therefore the dharma that is not different from the thing with shape, because you are that, so it is not reasonable to infer that the dwelling place, etc., are made by a person, because the mountain not made by a person is you. For example, if fire is derived from the substance of a living being, then the pervasion is uncertain. If the shape made by a person and only the shape are the same, therefore the thing made by a person is not established, if it is not so but is established, then the anthill is also a dharma, and it will be established as made by the potter, because the potter makes some changes in the clay such as vases, that is, because the created thing is the same as the change in the clay. The third case is: If only the shape is taken as the reason, and criticism is made by examining its characteristics, this will become a refutation with the same result. If the common reason is taken as the reason, and criticism is made by examining its characteristics, then this will not become a refutation, because shape cannot be taken as a common reason. Therefore, if it can clearly be taken as a common reason, but criticism is made from the perspective of characteristics, then it will become a refutation with the same result, for example, when proving that sound is impermanent with the made, the sound associated with the made, and the vase is different, because it is different, that is, looking at the vase from a different perspective.
