Return. Furthermore, to think that there are some special people who can understand the extremely hidden meaning beyond the senses is a manifest desire, so it must be thought so. If, for the extremely hidden meaning, there is no basis in scripture, but it can be understood by the measure of the power of things, it is for that reason. Third, there are four points to refute what is to be proved by the root reason: showing that there is no understanding of the meaning of the Vedas; therefore, there is no valid measure to prove the definite meaning; refuting other views that claim there is a proof; refuting that the self-nature determines the meaning. The first point is: the king's diviner, as the subject, from where do you understand that the meaning of the Vedas is this, because you do not understand. Because you yourself have desire, etc., or because you have desire, etc., you do not understand without relying on the oral instructions of others. Furthermore, because you have desire, even through the oral instructions of others, you do not understand the meaning of the Vedas, and even if you rely on what is shown by the Vedas themselves, you cannot understand the meaning of the Vedas, therefore, for that reason. The second point is: if you admit the former, then for hearing the sound "one who desires heaven, offer to the fire," as the subject, eating dog meat by one who desires heaven is not its meaning, but only pouring ghee into the lamp is its meaning, by what valid measure is this established? Because its meaning cannot be fully understood, therefore, for that reason. The third point is divided into two points: refuting that it is established by worldly fame; refuting what the Vedas themselves say. The first point has four points: fame cannot prove hidden things; showing that it contradicts fame itself; if it is established by fame, it is self-contradictory; showing that fame is the cause of doubt. The first point is: if you say that because the meaning of each sound of the Vedas is very famous in the language of the world, we have determined the meaning of each sound of the Vedas. Then, this worldly person, as the subject, by what reason can he distinguish that the meaning of the Vedic sound that can enter various meanings is this, and not others? Because there is no one who can see the meaning of the Vedas beyond the senses. The second point is: the sound of the Vedas, as the subject, the worldly

Because reputation cannot establish your meaning. Because apart from you, it is seen in the world that it expresses meanings that are not reputation, that is, the heavenly realm and heavenly women in the world, in order, are called reputation for the abode of the gods and the women there, but apart from you, people can recognize the sounds of special joy and rough trees, etc. If it is said that because one desires the heavenly realm, from the explanation of "give offerings to the fire," its meaning is established only in pouring into the ghee lamp of mantra practice. Then, the explanations of "give offerings to the fire" and other similar phrases, as the subject, your meaning is completely determined, and people cannot understand it. Because people cannot understand it from their own intellectual ability, or from the oral instructions of others, or even from the sound itself showing it. If you admit it, then it will become a conceptualization like "it is permissible to eat dog meat." Third, reputations are also people, they are the words of people, and the words of people are not considered valid, and yet one wants to understand the meaning of the Vedas from those words, the hatred and love for words, what is this, it is mutually contradictory. If it is said, what reason is there for thinking that the meaning of "give offerings to the fire," which transcends worldly reputation, is that it is permissible to eat dog meat? Even if it becomes famous as you wish, but because the universal reputation itself is not valid. Therefore, what reason is there for thinking that the meaning of that sound is pouring into the ghee lamp of mantra practice? There is no reason, it is the same. Fourth, worldly people, as the subject, just through your reputation, for the Vedic sound to be determined as the expression of one meaning, it is appropriate to raise doubts about whether it is so or not. Because in that reputation, it can be seen that the Vedic sounds have various meanings. Therefore, the Vedic sound itself, which is capable of showing various meanings, as the subject, people who have not seen the determiner of your meaning being completely determined, will definitely doubt what your meaning is, that is, they will doubt. Because there is no certainty that it cannot be used for meanings other than the desired meaning. The second part is divided into two parts: The Vedas are proven to be made by people in disguise. If it is not made by people, then the determination of meaning is contradictory.
