Firstly, if the Veda itself infers the king and clearly indicates the meaning, and then it indicates to others, then, the king-inferer, the subject, it should follow that you yourself have spoken the definite meaning of the Veda. Whatever speaks the definite meaning of the Veda by borrowing the name of the Veda, for those, please examine the difference between whether you have spoken it yourself or not, because it is the same. For example, some cunning people say, "The road is this," and say, "This log will speak." Another person does not borrow the name of the log, but personally says, "The road is this," these two ways of speaking the road in their own words are no different, it is like that. Secondly, the sound of the Veda, the subject, it naturally becomes a clarifier of one meaning, that is, an expresser, from where does this come? This should not follow, because it can be applied to all meanings. Furthermore, the sound of the Veda, the subject, apart from being determined as the expresser of each meaning through the door of expressive intention, by what valid cognition can one know the relationship between the expressed meaning and nature? This should not be known, because the relationship between the expressed meaning and self-other is beyond the senses, that is, it is not an object of valid cognition. That sound of the Veda, the subject, it is definitely only an expresser of one expressed meaning, from where does this come? This should not follow, because it is not man-made. This is pervasive, because intention is the cause of sounds being determined as expressers of each meaning, and convention is the clarifier of that intention, and if the convention is not man-made, then it does not exist. Fourthly, the sound of the Veda, the subject, even through expressive intention, it cannot be connected to other expressed meanings, this should follow, because it is naturally determined to be only an expresser of one expressed meaning. Again, that, the subject, understanding the meaning from you, the convention will also become meaningless, because of the previous reason. If the natural relationship is clarified through convention, the convention will not become meaningless, then, convention, the subject, from you, the sound meaning is clarified through the difference of natural relationship, that is, from where does the certainty of applying it to that itself come? This should not follow, because it is applied only through intention. Convention, the subject, the sound can be applied naturally, therefore it only clarifies the meaning of the intention

It is unreasonable, because there is no certainty that can determine the meaning of what it explains by its own nature, therefore, for whatever meaning is desired, the Svatantrika school will be involved. These two verses are transitional verses. Second, refuting establishment by the reason of one part not being deceptive, divided into two: stating the desired, explaining the refutation. First, the sound of the Vedas other than "fire can dispel cold" is also the subject, it is a true meaning, because it is a part of the Vedas. For example, just as the statement "fire can dispel cold" is true, some other earlier teachers say so. Second, divided into three: revealing that the proof has residue, revealing harm to the established itself, refuting by way of extreme inference. First, being a part of the Vedas is the subject, those who know the reasoning, with a reason like a cow's horn, refuted your correct reason, because there is a residue of doubt in the pervasion, it is false. For example, just as establishing that the taste of the remaining fruit is the same, because the remaining and the shape have the same nature, and also like being cooked in one container, also establishing that the remaining fruit is ripe with that reason. Second, the debater is the subject, like a prostitute who defeats her master with sweet words, because the obstacles to entering the treatise—contradicting the three valid cognitions—have not been completely eliminated, and also the branch of entering—the meaning connection of the treatise and the other three qualities—have not been revealed, because you admit that the Vedic treatise, by the reason of one part not being deceptive, everything is a true meaning. If asked how the contradiction with the three valid cognitions exists, and how it has not been eliminated? The Vedas are the subject, stating the meaning that contradicts the three valid cognitions, namely, the person is permanent and is the agent, and sounds and other things are permanent, and the generalities that are beyond the scope of the senses are apprehended by the senses, and things are produced by dissimilar causes—permanent causes, and abiding is dissimilar—abiding by other objects of support, and destruction is dissimilar—destroyed by other causes that arise later than their own causes.
