Now, because of having attachment, you cannot understand the meaning of the Vedas through the instructions of others, nor can you understand the meaning of the Vedas by relying on the Vedas themselves, therefore, for this reason. The second case is: if you admit the former view, then the statement "One who desires heaven, offer to the fire," this sound as the subject, if you say that the statement "One who desires heaven, eat dog meat" is not that meaning, and only the mantra practitioner pouring ghee into the flame is that meaning, then by what valid cognition is this established? Because it is not established. Because its meaning cannot be completely determined, therefore, for this reason. The third case is divided into two: refuting the view established by worldly convention, and refuting what the Vedas themselves say. The first case is divided into four points: convention cannot prove hidden things, showing contradiction with convention itself, if established by convention, it is self-contradictory, showing convention as the cause of doubt. The first point is: if you say that because in worldly language, the meaning of each sound of the Vedas is very famous, therefore the meaning of each sound of our Vedas is certain. Then, this worldly person as the subject, by what reason can you distinguish and say that the meaning of the Vedic sound that can enter into various meanings is only this, and not others? Because it cannot be distinguished. Because there is no object beyond the senses that can see the meaning of the Vedas. The second point is: the sound of the Vedas as the subject, your meaning cannot be established by worldly convention, because in the world it can be seen that you are speaking of meanings that do not conform to convention. For example, in the world, "heaven" and "goddess" refer respectively to the place where the gods reside and the woman who exists there, but in your case, "heaven" refers to the special pleasure of humans, and "goddess" refers to the sound of recognizing rough trees, etc. If you say that from the statement "One who desires heaven, offer to the fire," it can be determined that its meaning refers only to the mantra practitioner pouring ghee into the flame. Then, the explanation of other sounds similar to "offer to the fire," as the subject, its meaning cannot be completely determined by a person, because people cannot understand through their own intellectual ability, or through the instructions of others, or through what the sound itself explains. If you admit, then dog meat

Then, it will become such a conceptualization. Third, fame is also not valid, because it is the words of people, and the words of people are not considered valid. Moreover, wanting to understand the meaning of the Vedas from those words, and both hating and craving the words, what is this? This is contradictory. If someone asks, if it is thought that the meaning of "offering burnt offerings in the fire" which transcends worldly fame is eating dog meat, what reason is there? Even if it is famous as you wish, but because being well-known itself is not a valid measure. Then, what reason is there to think that the meaning of that sound is pouring ghee into the lamp of mantras? Because there is no reason, it is the same. Fourth, worldly person, your own fame determines that the sound of the Vedas expresses one meaning, then it is appropriate to raise doubts about whether it is so or not. Because, in that fame, it can be seen that the sounds of the Vedas have various meanings. Therefore, the sound of the Vedas itself, which can show various meanings, those who have not seen the determining factor that determines its meaning, will definitely doubt what your meaning is, that is, they should doubt. Because there is no certainty that it cannot be used for meanings other than the desired meaning. The second part is divided into two points: Through the guise of the Vedas, it is proven to be made by humans. If it is not man-made, then the determination of meaning will be contradictory. First point: If the Vedas themselves show the determination of meaning in the king's divination, and it shows it to others, then, king's divination, you have said the determination of the meaning of the Vedas. Whoever says the determination of the meaning of the Vedas in the name of the Vedas, examine whether they said it themselves or not, because it is the same. For example, some cunning people say that this road is like this, this stump will speak. Another person does not borrow the name of the stump, but says himself that this road is like this, these two ways of speaking in their own words are no different. Second point: The sound of the Vedas, from where is it determined that it naturally becomes an explainer of one meaning, that is, an expresser? Because it is not. Because it can express all meanings.
