Because of that. Furthermore, the sound of the Vedas, has the property. Apart from being determined as the expresser of individual meanings through the intention to express, through what valid cognition is it known that the expressed meaning is related to its own nature? It cannot be known. The relation between the expressed meaning and itself or others is beyond the senses, because it is not an object of valid cognition. That sound of the Vedas, has the property. That which is determined to be the expresser of only one expressed meaning, from what does that come, it cannot be established. Because it is not made by a person. It pervades: the intention to express is the cause for sounds to be determined as the expressers of individual meanings, and convention is the clarifier of that intention to express, and that convention, if it is not made by a person, then it does not exist. Fourth, the sound of the Vedas, has the property. For other expressed meanings, even the intention to express cannot be applied, it cannot be established. Because by its own nature it is determined to be the expresser of only one expressed meaning. Again, that, has the property. From you, in order to understand the meaning, the convention also becomes meaningless, it cannot be established. Because of the previous reason. If the relation by its own nature is made clear by the convention, the convention will not become meaningless, then, convention, has the property. From you, the distinction of the sound meaning being related by its own nature becomes clear, that is, from what does the certainty of applying to that itself come, it cannot be established. Because it applies only through intention. Convention, has the property. That sound, precisely because it can be applied by its own nature, will not only clarify the meaning of intention, it cannot be established. Because for that, what is called the certainty of applying to the determination of its own expressible meaning by its own nature, what exists, it does not exist, therefore, because for whatever meaning, intention applies autonomously. These two verses are intermediate verses. Second, refuting the establishment by the sign of one part not being deceptive, there are two: stating the intention, explaining the refutation. First, the sound of the Vedas other than "fire repels cold", also has the property. It is such a true meaning, because it is one part of the Vedas. For example, like the statement "fire is what repels cold" being true, other elderly logicians say so.
