From these, it is said that "it is dependent on reversion." Also, the other answers that consider that each has a part that reverts from different kinds and generally apply it to that, and the two explanations that say so are both unreasonable. If the general that has been previously explained is that the name of the general is applied to the meaning's own characteristic, then it must be admitted that the three characteristics of the nature's sign, the sign, the dharma, and the meaning, are self-characteristics, so the need to extensively show the distinction of other-elimination in this context will be lost. Therefore, I will explain the meaning of this based on the oral instructions of the glorious Sakya Paṇḍita. Those who like the secret words of speculation, please bend your necks and listen. If reversion and elimination have no other meaning, then the self-characteristics of reversion will not have a general, because the self-characteristics do not follow each other, so there is no single general substance, and since reversion and elimination have no other meaning, there is no other general substance either. If you say so, then here there are two generals, as it says, "Because they abide in their own essence," like the common things of the self-characteristics that do not mix with each other, as it says, "Revert from other things," that is, not related to objects of the same kind and different kinds, that is, reversion is the opposite of this, the similarity of the self-characteristics is the general itself, as previously stated. That is, in short, dividing one sound itself, in terms of elimination, into three reversions of sound, made, and impermanent, this is the general of sound, so it has been said. As it says in the Treasure of Intellect: "Other-elimination has different uses, one can also have different reversions." And, "The need for such division is that one is not understood as one, it is divided separately in order to understand." Just like it is said. Also, the meaning of "other" is that after dividing from one into different generals, from this, it explains the general that appears as one different in cognition. As it says in the Treasure of Lineage: "For those who have the same action and characteristics, they are attached to one by the power of habit." And, "The need to gather into one is that for different ones, it will be understood as one aspect of affirmation and negation, action." Just like it is said. Here, the three reversions of sound, made, and impermanent on the sound are all general, and the meanings of reversion, general, and other-elimination are the same, which has been clearly stated in the root and commentary and in the Treasure of Lineage, but the general and individual application of today's

The way of acting and even the slightest details do not match, and establishing one's own tenets has already been explained in general terms. Therefore, as an answer to the previous doubts, the general explanation of dividing one into many has been completed, and here, relying on things that are different from non-trees, that is, various things that appear as trees. Born through transmission, and in fact, the various things that appear as trees, the conceptual mind that appears as one form of trees, is the subject to be established. The various things that appear as trees appear as one form of trees, because your (conceptual mind's) own nature, the form produced by habitual tendencies, obscures the nature of other things, that is, the self-character of things that appear as trees. This is pervasive, because the obscurer, that is, the conventional consciousness, obscures the fact that the various things that appear as trees, even though their own natures are different, are still different, therefore the things that appear as trees, some of the natures that are different from non-trees, are not different, but appear as one. The form of the tree that appears in the conceptual mind is the subject to be established. Because of the influence of your idea of clinging to the nature of external trees, it is strongly proclaimed that the various things that appear as trees have a universal characteristic, because in front of your conceptual mind that holds trees, the various things that appear as trees all appear as a concomitant universal characteristic. Therefore, the form that appears in the conceptual mind itself, in front of the conceptual mind itself, is the universal characteristic and the actual expression of language, and the names such as identity and all affirmations and negations are also actually carried out in front of the conceptual mind itself, and saying that it is not established in meaning is because it is not established as one has examined it, and when other subsequent conceptual minds distinguish its mode of existence, because it is the apprehended aspect of the conceptual mind, it is a self-character, and the part of examining this as an external meaning is a universal characteristic, therefore it is said that it does not exist in things. As it says in the self-commentary: Those who explain distinguish in that way, but those who name do not, because they think that their own object is the only one that can realize meaning, and they enter after combining the appearance of the mind and the meaning that needs to be distinguished into one. So it is said. Its meaning is as it says in the Treasury of Reasoning: When explaining, be skilled by distinguishing, when entering, obtain by confusing into one. So it is said. The form is a universal characteristic in itself, in meaning, knowledge is a self-character. The universal characteristic depends on clinging to external objects, the self-character is established by appearing clearly. This is called the secret word of my (the author's) conceptual mind.
