There is a difference in the sign of "what is known," because it is not established in the direct perception of grasping a pot. If so, wouldn't direct perception fail to cognize all of its own objects? Answer: The direct perception of grasping a pot, as for the object of observation, because it grasps the pot like the one that has been made, is impermanent, and so on, abandoning the different parts, so in the ultimate sense, for things that have no difference in cognition, there is also a difference in cognition and non-cognition in name. Whichever distinctive quality of the pot is cognized, that is, has the conducive conditions for certainty, and there is no cause for confusion, that itself becomes known in name, but not the opposite. The conducive conditions for certainty are clear intelligence, great familiarity, and that the matter is timely and striving for it, and so on. The opposing causes are similar phenomena, distance, dull intelligence, and so on. Third, refuting the debate that is expressed after examining the opposite: If the sound consciousness is the opposite or the object of elimination by applying to the Dharma, then the opposite of a cow from a horse, and the opposite of a non-horse on the cow, etc., if they are different, then they will become no different from the general and specific that we desire, if they are not different, then for those sound consciousnesses that take the Dharma and the object of Dharma as their objects, it is not permissible to have different applications. As an answer to the doubts of the Vaisheshika school, there are three: Although the opposite is not different, the two sounds are applied. Because there is no other meaning, the fault of the general is not the same. If you look at the meaning, the previous accusation applies. The first has three: The two sounds are applied only by the desire to express, showing that there is no fault in this, and this principle can also be applied to all similar things. The first is that even when sound consciousness is applied to the opposite or the elimination of others, even if the opposite and the opposite have no difference in meaning, the words "this cow is the opposite of another horse" and "this cow is the opposite of another horse", and the certainty that depends on the words, are themselves different, because they are not applied by the difference in meaning, but only by following the distinction between Dharma and object of Dharma by name, because they are applied to the different imputations of Dharma and object of Dharma. The second has two: It is appropriate to apply the sixth case, it is appropriate to need the difference of names. The first is: If Dharma and object of Dharma have no difference in meaning, then "the cow's cowness" in this way, the sound of the sixth case will show differently

If it is said that there is no need, then, the two sounds expressing dharma and dharmin, for a cow, the meaning of being different from a horse, although it speaks of one, however, among the eight cases, the sound of the sixth case that distinguishes dharma from dharmin, O dharmin, you use it to prove that, just like dharma and dharmin without other meanings have different meanings, it can be shown, because it is the expresser that enters into distinguishing with different words for one expression object, merely distinguishing with the difference of distinction. Second, if the two sounds express the same difference, then it is not necessary to distinguish dharma and dharmin with words, if it is said so, on the dharmin cow, there are many differences such as not being a horse, not being a buffalo, etc., among which, abandoning other differences such as not being a buffalo, etc., only the dharma of not being a horse, and those that do not abandon not being a horse are dharmin. In order, the sound spoken of dharma and dharmin, that is the difference of that word, is the basis or reason for entering into different places, because this is the difference that follows the wishes of the understander of dharma and dharmin, that is, the listener. Therefore, for the same meaning, distinguishing dharma and dharmin, O dharmin, is necessary, because it is for the sake of understanding the same meaning in the way of abandoning and not abandoning other differences. Third, the so-called "not a horse" and "not horseness" are speaking of generality and having generality. Similarly, the so-called "white cow" and "the whiteness of the cow" etc., are speaking of merit and having merit, the so-called "cow walking" and "the walking of the cow" etc., are speaking of action and having action, all these, the substance, that is, what is said by dharmin, and the sound of what is said by the thing, that is, dharma, O dharmin, your expression object has no difference in meaning, because your difference is only that the same meaning is expressed by abandoning and not abandoning other differences. Also, because you want to understand the meaning of the moment by abandoning and not abandoning other differences, you can express it with the instrumental case ending that is helpful to the expressing sound, or the instrumental case ending that has the instrumental case, or the ergative case ending other than that, or other white etc. without special explanation.
