It is also because it arises from the cause of the tree. Third, is the destruction caused by fire the same entity as the tree, or a different entity? The tree is the subject. You (the tree) do not have any other aspect of destruction other than being the same or different entity, because you have been established as a real thing. Second, to avoid being too broad in that inference, there are four points: Avoid the simultaneous occurrence of destruction and things; avoid things not being destroyed; avoid the same fault of investigation; in this way, other similar things are also excluded. First, destruction, that is, decay, is the subject. It should be a permanent substance, because it is without cause. If you admit it, then the substance of the tree and the destruction, that is, the decay of the tree, will exist simultaneously. Because the decay of the tree is permanent. The non-affirming negation of the decay of the tree is the subject. Even if it is without cause, it should be a permanent substance, from what does it come? Because it is not a substance. Second, if destruction is not a substance, then it cannot destroy things, so things will not be destroyed. Considering destruction to be a different non-substantial entity is the subject. The inference that things are not destroyed cannot be a harm, because things are destroyed by other destructions, which is not admitted, because things arise momentarily from their own cause and are considered to be destroyed. If destruction is a different non-substantial entity, then the destruction of things is without cause. Based on this, how can we analyze without cause? Things themselves decay naturally, because they do not depend on factors other than the cause of things, so in order to understand independence, the mind of speculation will consider things and their destruction, even if there is no difference, as different, and will say that the state of destruction has no other cause, and saying that destruction has been completed is not saying that there is no cause at all, so there is a difference. Third, if the non-substantial destruction of the tree does not depend on factors other than its own cause, but exists only when the tree itself is established, then this distinction between whether destruction and the tree are the same or different is the same. If it is different, then the tree will not be destroyed, if it is the same, then the tree will be born

If it is said, it is because there is no change whatsoever. Then, the destroyed tree is the subject of the proposition. From the perspective of the substance of that tree, it does not change in the slightest, neither itself nor anything else, because after the tree is destroyed, it is simply gone. The conceptualization of things as one or different only arises when things exist, because the establishment of one and different, which is to say, the action, is only related to things. Therefore, saying that a tree is destroyed is to say that it is gone, which is only negating that it is not a thing, and not establishing any other dharma, therefore it is neither one nor different from the thing. Therefore, the non-affirming negation of the destroyed tree is the subject of the proposition. If the cause of the tree becomes dependent on some other cause, then it should not become non-dependent. Because for you, the substance of the cause does not perform any action whatsoever. This is pervasive. If some cause performs even a slight action, then it will depend on other causes, and if it does not, then it will not depend. Fourth, showing destruction as a non-thing, this is the subject of the proposition. There is also another necessity, because this is to eliminate the excessive accusation of destruction being without cause. What kind of accusation? One is destruction, which is to say, the destroyed, is the subject of the proposition. From something that has not arisen, which is to say, from the beginning of not arising, it should exist, this should be established. Because it is without cause. If it is admitted, then destruction is the subject of the proposition. It should be established as existing differently from sprouts and so on, and as being destruction. Because it exists from the beginning. How to eliminate it? Destruction is the subject of the proposition. If it is without cause, then it will not become the three, such as existing from the beginning, because it is not a thing. Here, the word "destruction" is considered by logicians to mean that after the tree is destroyed, even if the substance of the tree is gone, the destruction itself still exists. But Buddhists consider it to mean that the tree itself arises momentarily from its own cause. Therefore, it is necessary to know that the way of combining is different, and saying without cause, the first refers to completely without cause, and the latter refers to the cause of the tree not depending on other causes. Second, eliminating the uncertainty on the root cause, that is, existence is not pervasive with destruction, for example, although similar to the existence of living beings, some such as vases are considered to have obstruction, as well as intelligence and so on.
