What is the reason for establishing it? Because the meaning of "lord" is not non-existent, since there is a combination of the sound "lord." Secondly, if the meaning of the sound "lord" exists, it contradicts the lord himself, because all sounds are ultimate truth, completely clinging to self-nature, so sound and meaning are the same. If asked: For different things seen as permanent and impermanent by different observers, such as vases, as the subject, then the sounds of "permanent" and "impermanent" should not be applied, because the cause of applying these two sounds—both permanent and impermanent—do not exist. For the past and the future, as the subject, the present words should not be applied, because the present has no self-nature. Some words, as the subject, should not become the meaning of falsehood, because they are applied to the expressed of self-nature. Because there are such faults, those sounds, as the subject, should be admitted as the object of meaning appearing from the discriminating mind, because any expressed does not directly apply to self-nature. Thirdly, if asked: The reason stated by the teacher does not negate the self-nature of the lord, but negates the existence of the meaning of the sound of the lord. For those who deny the meaning of the sound of the lord and want to establish it with the reason of non-existence, according to their view, the reason for establishing the non-existence of the lord, as the subject, the subject—the meaning of the sound of the lord and the dharma—the collection of non-existence, should not become your proposition, because you have refuted the basis of the dharma—the meaning of the sound of the lord. If it is admitted, if only the dharma—non-existence—is the proposition, then the mere dharma of non-existence not distinguished by the independent lord, as the subject, should not become the proposition of the reason for the opponent who does not admit the lord, because it has been established by the opponent. Fourthly, if the meaning of the sound of the lord is not denied, and that is the place of application of the sound "lord," then the lord, as the subject, when you who do not deny the meaning of the sound measure you with the difference of having or not having function, your own self-natured thing is what should be examined, because you...
