Although not dependent, they exist together because they arise from a single cause, just as the five faculties of some sentient beings exist together, and just as form and taste, which rely on a single aggregate, exist together. If the mind changes when the body changes due to illness, etc., and if it is said that the mind truly relies on the body, then some external things, such as blood pierced by weapons for others, are also the basis of the mind, because the mind also changes through you. Secondly, the meaning of "cause" is that if the body is the cause that benefits the distinctions of the mind, then being separated from it does not pervade the absence of mind. For example, these fruits, whatever phenomena, because their prior existence benefits their own essence, are their own immediate cause, so if it disappears, the fruits will also disappear, always certain that their prior existence benefits their own essence and follows it. Because the cause comes before and the effect arises later, the Bhagavan (梵文:Bhagavān,梵文罗马拟音:bhagavan,汉语字面意思:World-Honored One) said, "This being, that arises; this arising, that arises." "This being" is a word in the seventh case, and "this arising" is a word in the fifth case, indicating that the cause exists prior, while the two words "this arising" and "this being" explain that the effect exists later. In order to understand that the cause exists before and the effect arises later, it must be explained in this way, but such an immediate cause and the definition of having an immediate cause are not established in body and mind. In some cases, the body may indirectly benefit the state of the mind's continuum, but merely benefiting the state of the mind does not establish that the mind's continuum disappears when the body disappears, because the body is not the immediate cause of the mind. For example, although fire and other things can help the hardness and other characteristics of pots and other things, the continuum of pots and other things does not disappear when the fire disappears. The third part has three points: refuting overly extreme reasoning, refuting other answers that lack favorable conditions, and refuting other answers that have opposing conditions. The first point is: if the meaning of "cause" is understood as the body being the direct cause of the mind, then the corpse,

There is no way to avoid the consequence, because the direct cause of consciousness is the existence of the body, since the body exists. The second case is: a corpse, which is the subject, has no consciousness, because the conducive condition of consciousness, breath, does not exist. If you say that, consciousness, which is the subject, breath arises and is inhaled from you, but breath does not arise continuously from you, because if you exist to help breath, breath exists, and breath becomes dependent on you, because exhaling and inhaling are not produced without your effort, are they? Furthermore, consciousness, which is the subject, you should gain increase and decrease from the increase and decrease of breath, because you are a substance produced from the immediate cause of breath. Moreover, those who believe that the body is the direct cause of consciousness and that a corpse lacks the causal condition of consciousness, for them, a corpse, which is the subject, should have breath, because the direct cause of breath, the body, exists, so the consequence is the same. If you believe that the previous moment of consciousness is the cause of the next moment of consciousness, then for you, a corpse also has consciousness. If the cause of consciousness is consciousness, then a corpse, which is the subject, should have consciousness, because the cause of consciousness is complete, this consequence is not the same, because for this body, the other attractors that cause consciousness to exist, that is, the actions of previous lives, are also considered to be the cause of consciousness existing in the body, so a corpse does not have the complete cause of consciousness existing. The third part has three aspects: stating the assertion and pointing out the harm, refuting the fault of relying on examples, and summarizing and showing the various aspects of reasoning. The first point is: if trees and so on are the cause of a lamp, but if there is an obstacle such as moisture, the lamp will not be produced, similarly, the body is the direct cause of consciousness, but due to the fault of disease, it is inconsistent, that is, it has created an obstacle, so a corpse is not the cause of consciousness, therefore there is no fault of the consequence that consciousness exists in a corpse. If death is caused by poison and so on, when the fault of poison and so on disappears, that is, when it is restored, it is the subject, it should become alive again, because there is no obstacle to being alive, disease, and the direct cause of being alive, the body, is complete. The second point is: if it is not pervasive, because wood burns
