Once realization dawns, all appearances are recognized as mind. Examining the nature of that mind, it is not established in any of the three—going, staying, or coming. Realizing that it is not established in reality, like horses and cows in a dream, is recognizing the emptiness of mind. From the state of emptiness and clarity, various unimpeded great bliss spontaneously arise, like the moon in the water (30). Realizing this is recognizing spontaneous presence in emptiness. As soon as it is spontaneously accomplished, the clear awareness of emptiness, spontaneous presence, freedom from elaboration, immutability, and great bliss do not waver from this. Like a snake untying its own knot, arising and liberation are simultaneous. Therefore, being certain of spontaneous self-liberation is recognizing spontaneous self-liberation. The nature of the mind that recognizes is this very ordinary consciousness, unmoving and yet moving, the clear and vivid awareness, this very one that is the union of clarity and emptiness, great bliss, the emptiness that possesses all supreme qualities, or what is called Mahamudra. If you recognize this, it is called realizing Mahamudra. Therefore, there is nothing to meditate on. Without a moment's distraction, leave awareness vividly in its own place. Without any hope for good or fear of bad, relax and maintain the natural state of ordinary consciousness. In that instant, the Mahamudra, the union of bliss and emptiness, is seen like the center of a clear, cloudless sky. Now, uniting shamatha and vipashyana, experience and realization become outstanding, and you have entered the path of liberation. In short, recognize the Mahamudra, the non-dual wisdom free from all dualistic delusions, the great bliss free from elaboration, the emptiness possessing all supreme qualities. This is like soaring for those with faith, revolving for those with strong devotion, and descending for those who receive blessings. This is unhidden, naturally present within oneself, but previously unrecognized. Now that it is recognized, one arrives at the ground of Mahamudra, sees the nature of Mahamudra on the path, and abides in the fruition of Mahamudra. Therefore, it is crucial to rejoice in meditation and always cultivate diligence as the essence. This is to bring all recognitions and views into one. According to its manner of arising, bring the recognitions into one. If you do not do this (31) and instead bring the recognitions into one from the beginning, you will become a pretentious Dharma speaker who is ultimately led by others.

In planting and so on, if there is no increase, it will become a dry understanding, and there is danger, so according to such views, corresponding introductions should be made. This is the main practice sequence. Twenty-sixth session. The third is the subsequent increase and removal of obstacles. The way qualities arise, the way to travel the path, and the way to manifest the fruit. First, from the difficulty of obtaining leisure and fortune to the cultivation of bodhicitta and so on, all should be included in the Great Seal. All practices of the generation stage and completion stage should also have the three essentials. In all four types of conduct, recognize your own nature and combine it with the Great Seal. Practice without separation from the uncorrected, non-elaborate, inseparable quiescence and insight. Relying on it, increase through the four conducts. Furthermore, attachment to the acceptance and rejection of good and non-good, and the idea that one will attain enlightenment at this time when the three times have not been accomplished, and the idea that one's own mind inherently possesses the five wisdoms, but regards it as ordinary, and not taking the wisdom born of meditation as the main thing, but wanting to be liberated by the wisdom of hearing and thinking, etc. Abandon the inverted discriminations of object, time, nature, self-nature, and wisdom. The body should be straightened. When staying, stay in the original position, when moving, move in the original position, observe its nature and stay, and transform the samadhi and body posture into one, avoiding conversion and fatigue, and abandon attachment and hatred for good and bad experiences and realizations. First start, in the middle do not interrupt, and finally be skilled in guarding the experience, learn these three skills. Also (32), bliss, clarity, non-conceptuality, etc., in short, if you are attached to any experience and realization, you will be lost and destroyed, so abandon attachment and hatred. Twenty-third session. Through the reasoning of one and many being separate, etc., determine that all dharmas are empty in their own nature, becoming emptiness that has lost its nature due to conceptual fabrication, and regarding emptiness as an antidote, and afflictions as what should be abandoned, not realizing that everything is emptiness, that is, emptiness becomes an antidote. Not realizing that the paths of the three bases, paths, and fruits are all paths to Buddhahood, thinking that only emptiness can solve the problem and not considering the part of skillful means, that is, emptiness loses the path. Without experience, practice emptiness through self-nature, etc., everything
