Having placed the thought and action of wanting to discard the container at will like that, and starting to sit or walk in that place. Whether that cause causes harm or not, if it goes beyond forty-nine 'doms' (འདོམ་, a unit of measurement) of place, then one commits a downfall. For an individual, this is a misdeed. There are three kinds of harm: being blown away by the wind, being washed away by rain, and being damaged by insects, etc. Fifth, regarding the mat. The basis upon which it rests is 'again'. The special action is 'then'. The basis is that a monk lays down mats of roots, leaves, etc., in a monastery, in a place where small creatures are born. Its ultimate thought and action are the same as before. Regarding what should be done: the roots and leaves laid in the monastery should be discarded or turned upside down. When laying them in other houses, one should ask the householder and then discard them (36b). Do not place heavy things and wood, etc., in places where creatures are born. If the mats laid in a walking place or for drying clothes are not discarded, it is a misdeed. Sixth, regarding expulsion. The thought upon which it rests is 'again'. The special action is 'expel?' etc. The basis is that a monk starts to expel another monk from the monastery with the thought of wanting to expel them at will, not for the sake of eliminating harm or pacifying the disputes of the Sangha, etc., but by himself or by someone appointed. If that cause goes beyond the monastery and its surroundings, then one commits a downfall. Expelling from an individual's monastery and from a householder's residence, and merely for the sake of joking, or expelling only to the extent that it does not go beyond the surroundings, is a misdeed. Seventh, suppressing beyond the limit is a downfall. The basis upon which it rests is 'again, monk'. The cognitive action is 'knowingly'. The basis is that a monk, in the monastery of the Sangha, towards a monk who entered earlier, because of a disagreement in motivation, therefore the action is not out of fear, but he starts to suppress with either body or speech. If he completely suppresses, then he commits a downfall. Eighth, regarding pulling out. The basis upon which it rests is 'monk'. The cognitive action is 'knowingly'. The basis is that a monk, for the fault of the roof of the Sangha's monastery being broken, sitting or lying on the sharp root of a bed or small bed without leg supports, when the action is completed, then he commits a downfall. Ninth, regarding planting. The thought upon which it rests is 'again, monk'.

The basis and application are: living beings. That is, as the basis, a Bhikshu, regarding water, grass, trees, and other living beings (37a) , knowing them as if they were living beings, and with the intention of enjoying them for his own sake, either himself or instructing others to initiate actions, and due to this cause, as many living beings die, that many downfalls occur. 10. Building more than two stories. The permissible limit of the basis is: Bhikshu. And, exceeding the limit is: exceeding that. That is, the temple built by a Bhikshu, capable of accommodating more than four practices, and on the same day, and without mud, building the father's house exceeding three stories. Not digging a well. Before excavating the foundation but not erecting it, not installing the upper door leaf, the application is that without the long-term support of the donor, either himself or instructing others to initiate actions, with too many stories, soon to collapse, a downfall will occur. The third set of ten (the category of not being instructed): In general, without instruction, the sun sets, food and Dharma robes are two, ships with consistent meaning and two solitary places, instructed by Bhikshunis. From these contents, 1. Preaching without instruction. The place of reliance is: again. And, the special feature of the application is: preaching. That is, from now on, the basic parts of the reliance are understood through meaning, so they are not mentioned. Therefore, the reliance does not have the ability of a human Dharma master, and has not requested or appointed a Bhikshuni preacher. Even if appointed, if the Bhikshu who does not have the qualifications preaches the application, if the meaning is understood when preaching the true Dharma, that is the actual practice. 2. Preaching before the sun sets. The basis of reliance is: again. And, the characteristic of the application is: preaching. That is, even if a Bhikshuni is appointed as the preacher, if preaching to the Bhikshuni until the sun sets, ultimately (37b) if the meaning is understood, that is the actual practice. 3. Preaching for a little food. The basis of reliance is: again. And, the characteristic of the application is: preaching. That is, other Bhikshus preach the Dharma for food and clothing, change their minds, want to slander, and preach the Dharma for just food. Saying it by name, just slandering, if the meaning is understood, a downfall will occur. 4. Giving clothes. Including the basis of reliance is: again a Bhikshu. And, the application is: giving. That is, offering clothes to the Bhikshuni Sangha, and giving to servants, apart from giving, approaching Bhikshunis.
