Whether hermaphrodite or any other, the three doors are not damaged by diseases, etc., and one's own faculties are not impaired. In terms of thought: the consciousness is not confused, and with the intention corresponding to the path and its branches, the desire to possess contact is continuous. In terms of action: striving in that way in accordance with thought. The ultimate branch is: actually experiencing the entering contact. For a novice monk, this is like a defeat, it is a misdeed. In general, the order of generating a transgression in the five categories of transgressions is: from the mind arising completely, until it is not manifested in body and speech, obtaining what should be guarded, and between entering into elaboration, committing a misdeed through action, these two are considered in general. For defeat and remainder, there are also other terms such as action and actual gross offense. Therefore, the way to become a gross offense is: for the object of wanting to engage in impure conduct, caressing and fondling, before experiencing the taste, it is an action gross offense. With the thought of sexual intercourse, considering a non-orifice of the body as an orifice. Being damaged by wounds, diseases, etc., the support (referring to the sexual organ) leaking, the boundary of confession manifesting, the mouth of the head cut off from the body, and the object and agent of intercourse being dissimilar, unable to have intercourse, the three doors of cooked bodies such as pigs, the outside of the teeth of the mouth, and images made of wood, etc., appearing in the form of an orifice through the power of non-humans, hermaphrodites without a female vulva, entering inside, being injured by friction after entering, touching the form of a limb outside the three doors, the limb being damaged by diseases, etc., being unable to act, bending, inserting without touching, being forced by others, not experiencing the taste due to fear and shame, promising others for the sake of engaging in sexual intercourse, etc., these are all gross offenses. After being manifested in body and speech, it becomes a misdeed that needs to be confessed. Rising from the bed, etc., because of wanting to engage in impure conduct, each step also becomes a misdeed. Even merely looking at a woman's body with lustful thoughts is a misdeed. What should be learned is: closing and surrounding, being guarded by a virtuous friend monk, not tying the hem of the skirt, not sleeping during the day, places where women seduce, places where non-humans show and enter into sexual intercourse, and streams holding the form of limbs.

One should not cross a river naked, nor cross in a boat without mindfulness, nor enter a cattle pen, nor peer into a well, nor go begging without awareness. Furthermore, one should not urinate in front of a dog, nor discharge indiscriminately without distinguishing male from female, nor spend the night alone without cover; these are things to be learned. Secondly, taking what is not given. As it is said: Again, if other monks dwell in a village or in a monastery, if they take what belongs to the category of stealing without being given, however much is taken without being given, the king or a great minister seizes him and says to him, 'Hey, you person are a thief! A child! A fool! A thief!' Thus they say, and whether they whip, imprison, or expel him, it is all the same. If a monk takes what is not given in this way, that monk has become defeated and should not remain. Thus it is said. Its meaning should be explained: The basis for this is that a monk who possesses vows, on the basis of a country, with respect to property owned by a lineage of people whose wealth is not the same as his own, without the owner's permission, at that time and place, with a single action, the value is complete with respect to both the object to be stolen and the person stealing. The action is: by oneself or by commissioning another, through gathering two or three, by means of force or secrecy, etc., taking possession and when the thought of obtaining arises, one will be defeated. In general, the ways in which ownership of property changes are: the ownership of lineage, such as a son inheriting his father's property; the ownership of the laws of the country, such as gambling belonging to the king; the ownership of intentional action, such as game belonging to the hunter; the ownership of the Sugata's command, such as summer gains belonging to the Sangha. Complete value means: such as food made by a hired worker, and things from a cemetery, etc., not being inferior, it is universally agreed that it should be set at a quarter of a Karshapana. Although the value of a quarter of a Karshapana varies greatly depending on the region and time, it is now said that one sho of gold and silver is the standard. Now, the gross actions of taking what is not given will be described, that is, all actions from spying on property to not completing the act. For example, spying in order to steal a fine Padma horse, enticing with equipment and leading away horses, etc., and sitting on a boat thinking, 'I will steal this,' etc.
