In order to nourish and develop the seeds of manifestation, etc., it would be just like the Samkhyas and Vaisheshikas laboring for the sake of the path of liberation. Therefore, such emptiness, like the emptiness (spoken of) by the outsiders, is a temporary or nominal emptiness, which the Bhagavan criticized in many ways. As it says in the Lankavatara Sutra: "Great wisdom, the emptiness of one without one is the lowest emptiness, which you should abandon." And as it says in the Samadhiraja Sutra (339b): "Son of the Victorious One, things are completely destroyed, all existence is completely empty, the temporary emptiness is (held) by the heretics, the wise do not argue with foolish children." And as it says in the Nirvana Sutra: "Son of good family, all dharmas are empty by their own nature. Why is that? Because all dharmas have no self-nature to be grasped." It also says: "The Bodhisattva Mahasattva, because he possesses five things, sees that the self-nature of dharmas is empty and peaceful from the beginning. Son of good family, if any shramana or brahmana sees that the self-nature of all dharmas is not empty, then he is not a shramana, not a brahmana, cannot attain the Prajnaparamita, cannot be completely liberated from suffering, cannot see the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas directly, and should be regarded as a retinue of Mara. Son of good family, all dharmas are empty by their own nature, and the Bodhisattva, by meditating on emptiness, sees that all dharmas are empty." Thus it is said in the sutra. Therefore, those who think that the last turning of the wheel is definitive and literal, and who think that ultimate truth is not empty of its own essence, should also think carefully about this passage. By the way, those who think that ultimate truth is not empty of non-existence, but that its essence is inherently established, should also think carefully. In particular, even if one thinks that the middle turning of the wheel is definitive and literal, as it says in the Mother Sutra: "Regarding what is Prajnaparamita, one cannot grasp that form is permanent (340n) or impermanent, and if one cannot even grasp form itself, how can one observe permanence or impermanence? The same is true up to all-knowingness. Showing it in this way is like showing a fabrication like Prajnaparamita.

It is not like that. Like form and other terms, not being empty of their own nature, as the object of refutation by reason is also widely prohibited from the door of future prophecy. Correspondingly, in the Sutra of the Meeting of Father and Son, it says: "World Honored One, ignorance does not exist by ignorance itself. Why is that? Because ignorance is devoid of self-nature. Any dharma that does not have self-nature is without substance. Whatever is without substance is completely unestablished. Whatever is completely unestablished will not arise or cease. Whatever does not arise or cease cannot be established as past, is not future, and cannot be established as present. Whatever is not valid in the three times is without name, without characteristics, without signs, and cannot be established. It is only for the sake of guiding sentient beings that there are names, terms, conventions, expressions, and establishments. Ignorance is not seen in the ultimate sense. Any dharma that is not seen in the ultimate sense cannot be established, nor can it be established in conventional terms, nor can it be spoken of. World Honored One, whatever is merely a name is not real." Thus, it is extensively explained that when examining dependent origination and other-dependence in conventional terms, from ignorance and form, etc., up to the wisdom of omniscience, all knowable dharmas are emptiness of emptiness in the two truths, and should be established as emptiness, or the object of refutation. Although the difference between this dharma-nature and dharma-aspect arises from the inexhaustible ocean of scriptures. However, when the great Tsongkhapa explains the intention of the definitive meaning Madhyamaka, he says: "The dharma that the World Honored One said that all dharmas are emptiness, the dharma that should be emptied or refuted, is not found at all among the knowable in conventional terms, and has been exhausted. Then, searching from among the non-knowable dharmas, looking to see if it can be found, if it can be found, then it is determined as emptiness. Therefore, these dharmas of samsara and nirvana, once found, will not become the emptiness of selflessness and reality. These dharmas seem to have a good intention to save these dharmas from being established as my reality as much as possible. However, since the World Honored One, the all-seer, cannot speak falsely, the dharmas and individuals are without self-nature and without self, emptiness.
