When establishing something, if the answer is that the two truths are neither one nor different, then the self-statement that "the two truths are not completely non-existent" becomes meaningless. In that case, it would be unreasonable to ask in conventional terms whether the two truths are one or different, and to answer. Because, if the conventional truth is completely non-existent even in the conventional establishment (333b), then it is impossible for a wise person with doubts to have doubts about whether it is one or different from the ultimate truth. It's like not thinking about whether a rabbit's horn is one or different from the ultimate truth. Therefore, using the argument that the two truths are neither one nor different is nothing more than a great slander of wrong views on the two truths, because it is saying that the ultimate truth is permanent and established, and the conventional truth is not found anywhere. According to our statement, if we do not observe, we will not think about whether the two truths are one or different, and when we enter the acceptance and rejection of the world and beyond, the conventional truth, which is the subject, is not abandoned by the ultimate truth, which is the nature of reality, and we engage in acceptance and rejection of it. When observing, we negate both one and different for the two, and do not regard the two as one or different, but as view and meditation. Like you, negating one and looking at the edge of the other, etc., being tormented by the dregs of view and meditation and pleasant feelings, how can it be done? Furthermore, in this snowy land, Je Tsongkhapa, based on the instructions of the venerable Manjushri, distinguished the supreme tradition of Chandrakirti in an unprecedented way, saying: To realize that the self and true establishment, which are to be emptied, do not exist in the person and phenomena that are the basis of emptiness, one must first recognize the object of negation, which is the opposite of this, as the reason. The object of negation, as the reason, although it does not exist in the knowable, the emptiness that negates it exists in the knowable, therefore the ultimate truth exists in the conventional truth, and the ultimate truth (334a) does not exist in the ultimate truth, so one must not confuse the place of existence and the thing that exists. Measuring the person and aggregates, etc., which are the basis of emptiness, as things that directly function with valid conventional cognition, is infallible, then its nature, the emptiness of the non-existence of self and truth, and the selflessness, must also be indirectly established as the basis by valid intellectual cognition. That's what he said. This tradition is a disguise of words.

No matter how much is said, it is only indulging in separating the characteristics and nature of the two truths of reality, and delighting in stirring up all the essence of conceptual thoughts, which is completely contrary to the school that proclaims the truth of dependent origination in accordance with the conventional truth of knowable phenomena. In this way, does the object of negation, the establishment of truth, which does not exist in the knowable, become the object of negation as a reason in the knowable? If according to the first case, then the knowable is the subject. It follows that in the knowable there exists the establishment of truth, which is the object of negation as a reason, because the object of negation as a reason that does not exist in the knowable is refuted by reason in the knowable. This is pervasive. If the establishment of truth is refuted in the knowable, then when refuting any of the establishments of truth that exist or do not exist in the knowable, if the establishment of truth that does not exist in the knowable is refuted, then there is no choice but to establish the establishment of truth that exists. Because you all say that double negation is the only rational lifeline for true understanding in all Madhyamaka reasoning. And, in the realm of consciousness, after the object of negation as a reason enters the knowable, it is refuted by the wisdom of consciousness, and apart from that, there is no other way in the world (334b) to establish its existence in the knowable. Also, if you say that the establishment of truth that does not exist in the knowable exists in the knowable, thereby holding onto the extreme of permanence, then refuting the establishment of truth that does not exist in the knowable, will it not become the establishment of truth that exists in the knowable? Then, just as it is impossible for such an establishment of truth to exist in the knowable by holding onto the extreme of permanence, the non-existence related to it is also merely holding onto the extreme of permanence, and thus it is impossible for it to exist in the knowable. If there is such a non-existence, then it must be recognized that in the way of holding onto the extreme of permanence, there must be such an establishment of truth. You yourselves said that you establish non-existence by relying on its non-existence. Such an establishment of truth is merely holding onto the extreme of permanence in the knowable, but it does not actually exist in the knowable. If you say that the first reason is not pervasive, then it is pervasive. The reality that I do not have is the establishment of truth as the object of negation, which does not exist in the knowable, and if it is possible to exist, it will appear, and if it is impossible to exist, it will not appear. These two are established by dependence, so if one is completely non-existent, then the other related to it will also never appear. Also, if you say that the object of negation as a reason does not exist in the knowable, but exists in the knowable, then it is like the eight cases of sound.
