The sound called "འཇིག་པ་" can refer to things like vases or trees, or it can refer to destruction and disappearance. Dharmakirti says that when discussing the destruction of things, "without cause" means that destruction itself is a thing, so the production of things does not need to rely on other causes. When doubting whether destruction means disappearance, "without cause" means that there is absolutely no cause, because destruction is non-material. In either case, it is clear that destruction does not need a cause. If you do not understand this meaning, explaining the scriptures will become confusing, which is a good explanation. Therefore, when the first thing is destroyed or ceases, the destruction that produces the second thing is produced. Since the first thing has ceased to be destroyed and is no longer a thing, in the space where it does not hinder, there will be the production of the second thing with birth and death. If we analyze birth and death at the same time, production will not be established, because cessation and destruction are not included in time. So, are cessation-destruction and production-destruction simultaneously present in two destructive substances? Although this is not the case, production-destruction has two functions: destroying itself and producing other destructive substances, while cessation-destruction has only one function: the destruction of itself by the cessation of destruction, and this difference is used to distinguish them. (197b) Therefore, the destruction of a thing is the destruction of the thing itself, but the destruction of the thing itself, that is, the purely negative destruction that abandons the properties of the thing, is not a thing, because it is separated from all functions. Even so, destruction is only considered and mentioned as non-material, but destruction should not be considered as the basis of non-material. As it is said: "When a thing becomes something else, people say it is non-material." Just as people in the world simply say that what is not a thing is non-material, the substantial non-material that some outsiders and insiders think is unreasonable, and there are extensive discussions in the Madhyamaka scriptures. Third, the situation where it is completely unreasonable because it contradicts reason, and the situation where it is completely unreasonable because it contradicts scriptural evidence. The first case is that if the destroyed thing is the cause of the undestroyed later thing, then the undestroyed before and after

There must be something that decays between them. Because the decaying thing is the cause of producing things that have birth. If you admit it, then the decaying thing will ultimately not change from decaying to non-decaying. Because it is a thing with a decaying end. If you admit it, then the decaying thing will ultimately not become the cause of eternally producing non-decaying things. Because the decaying thing that decays will not change from decaying to non-decaying. This is not pervasive, because the decaying thing itself produces decaying things, but it is also established as the cause of producing other non-decaying things, if you think so. It is not so, because oneself does not exist as a thing (198a), so one cannot make others into things. Moreover, in the case where phenomena arise continuously, if there is no interruption between the decaying thing turning into a non-decaying thing, then either the decaying and non-decaying things will arise simultaneously, or the non-decaying thing will exist intermittently, and the decaying and non-decaying things will arise alternately. Such a view has never been heard of by any Buddhist philosopher, and it must be an absurd statement that has arisen due to the force of the times. If a decaying thing exists, then the decaying thing has a decaying end. And its decay is also a thing, so the thing of a single moment of decay must also be imagined as an infinite number of entities, like the Vaibhashikas obtain, and then it must be spoken. Even if you say that, what other need is there besides the false sin of changing concepts? Also, because decaying and non-decaying things arise alternately. There will be intermittent production between the cause and effect of non-decaying things. If you admit that, then therefore there will also be intermittent production between the cause and effect of decaying things. If you admit it, then it is impossible to establish the thing of cause and effect in name. Because cause and effect are inconsistent and interrupted, but it is said to become cause and effect, this is just attachment and cannot become cause and effect. If you admit it, then what result do you have for denying all things of cause and effect? Moreover, the death of the father will also become the cause of the son's birth (198b), because decay is the thing of the death of sentient beings, which is the cause of producing ignorance, which is the same here. If you think so
