That itself is, calling false views conventional truth. Without understanding the meaning of the treatises that explain profound dependent origination, due to the ripening of the habit of grasping at reality, one clings to things, and not having heard that the nature of things is empty by nature, one says that other-birth exists in the world. If there is no other-birth, then the direct perception of the world is contradictory, thus speaking rashly under the influence of the sleep of ignorance (138a). In this world, how do the terms of truth and falsehood temporarily circulate due to delusion and non-delusion, and if one does not explain how to speak only of the circulation of truth and falsehood and to be free from speech, then one cannot eliminate the attachment to speaking rashly about the world. Therefore, in order to show the difference between whether or not the direct perception of the world harms other-birth, etc., one establishes the aspect of the two truths for all phenomena, and for this reason, one establishes whether or not it is the object of harm. Thus, the Bhagavan, in establishing the two truths for all internal and external things such as sprouts, etc., only says that the noble one sees that the object is truly established as true in the wisdom of true seeing. It is not that something established by its own nature can be found by the mind. Conventional truth is that the minds of ordinary beings whose minds and eyes are completely covered by the cataract of ignorance establish the object in their minds by seeing a false object. However, the way of grasping seen by that mind and the way of establishing the object are not the same. Therefore, all things that are found will hold the nature of both ultimate truth and conventional truth. Of these two, the true object seen by the noble one is Suchness, that is, ultimate truth. Whatever is the object of false views is said by the teacher to be conventional truth. Here, I will briefly mention the meaning derived from the two truths. In this snowy land of Tibet, which of the two schools of Madhyamaka, Prasangika and Svatantrika, is more prosperous in later times? The venerable (138b) Tsongkhapa the Great said: By the power of the new good explanation of relying on Manjushri himself as a spiritual friend, the Prasangika school is indeed more prosperous. However, the Prasangika school accepts that the two truths are one in essence and different in aspects.
