If it is not real, how can it change? If one clings to the permanent self with the word "I," and thinks that one can abandon the self by seeing no-self, then by that very admission, your mind or aggregates will not become the self. Furthermore, if the self seen as non-existent by the wisdom that realizes no-self is the permanent self, then the aggregates and mind should not be the self, because they are the objects of wisdom and are not obstructed. If the aggregates are not the self when no-self is realized, then how can the aggregates be the self when it is not realized? The second is: Your yoga, by seeing no-self, will not realize the nature of form, etc., because attachment, etc., arise from focusing on form, and because its essence is not realized. According to your system, the yogi, by seeing no-self, will not realize the nature of the aggregates such as form, because he realizes the no-self that is different from the aggregates. Afflictions such as attachment will also arise in that yogi, because he has not realized the selflessness of the person, which is the nature of the aggregates. Attachment, etc., and self-view, etc., arise from focusing on objects such as form. For example, even if an apple only has juice and honey, one will not realize the sweetness, but if a bee tastes the honey, it will realize the sweetness, and its craving for it will not diminish. Similarly, merely seeing the imputed no-self will not realize no-self, but will instead view the aggregates, etc., as the self in a reversed way, and attachment, etc., will not diminish. The second part includes: stating the former position and refuting those positions (༢༨༨ན) in two parts. The first part is: Because the teacher said that the aggregates are the self, if one thinks that the aggregates are the self, we take the scriptures as valid, why would it not be harmed by logical reasoning? Because the teacher said that whatever monk or Brahmin correctly contemplates "I," they only correctly contemplate these five aggregates of grasping, so the aggregates are only the self. If one says this, then the second part is: The intention of the scriptures is not that the aggregates are the self. Even if the aggregates are the self, the collection cannot be the self. And the taker should not be the taken, in three points. The first point includes: the doctrine and the explanation in two parts. The first part is:

Oh, this is to prevent the self other than the aggregates, because other sutras say that form is not the self, etc. This sutra does not say that the aggregates are the self, saying so is to prevent the self that is different from the aggregates and is posited by the internal and external schools. Because "only viewing the aggregates as the self" shows that they do not see the self other than the aggregates. It refutes the self that is posited relative to the conventional truth, and in the unexamined conventional truth, the object of the view of self is also the aggregates. Therefore, the Blessed One also said that the view of self is the view of the perishable collection. From this it is known that this is to prevent the self other than the aggregates, because other sutras say that form is not the self, etc. Secondly, because form and feeling are not the self, nor is perception, nor are formations, nor is consciousness, because other sutras say that they are not, therefore, the aggregates shown in the sutra are not meant to be the self. The meaning of the previous sutra is to prevent the self other than the aggregates, not to think that the aggregates are the self, because in other sutras accepted by the Hearers, it is said that form and feeling are not the self, nor is perception the self, nor are formations the self, nor is consciousness the self. The meaning here is that the former sutra, in the unexamined conventional, shows the self that is imputed in dependence on the aggregates as the object of the clinging of the view of the perishable collection, thereby preventing the self that is different from the aggregates. The latter sutra, after examination, thinks that form, etc., are also the self, thereby preventing the self that is imputed in dependence on the aggregates, that object of the view of the perishable collection, is not born from the aggregates as the proximate cause, therefore, if the aggregates are not the proximate cause of the self, then its result, the self, also has no proximate cause, therefore the self will also become separate from form, etc., this is his intention. Contrary to the meaning of this treatise, the master Black Horse Armor is speaking, in his commentary on the Engaging in the Bodhisattva Deeds, he says: Therefore, I will give you the key teaching, which is revered by many people of our own school, who think that the self is the aggregates, and that the inexpressible self, these two are schools that think of existence as real, from the Kashmir Vaibhashika to the Svatantrika.
