Glorious with the accomplishment of the Vajra Vehicle, At the feet of the venerable great Buddha, Again and again remembering the kindness, I prostrate, And to the best of my ability, I joyfully explain the faultless, excellent words. Thus it is said. Secondly, From seeing the objects of focus in a dream, Even when awake, attachment arises in the foolish, Likewise, from actions that are ceased and without inherent existence, There are also results. If, in ultimate truth, actions are without inherent existence, And conventionally, whether actions have ceased or not, it is unreasonable for results to arise, then what need is there to mention both? The meaning of what has been said, explained through examples, is: From actions that have ceased and been long gone, and that do not have inherent existence, there are also the results of ripening, for example, In a dream, seeing the objects of focus, such as desired things, And enjoying desire together with a beautiful woman, upon awakening, Although the woman in the dream is not established by nature and has ceased, some fools still become attached to her, and it becomes a cause for attachment, so it is the same here. The meaning of this example is extensively explained in the Sutra on the Transference of Existence, as stated in the self-commentary. Thirdly, Abandoning the extreme of endlessness, Although empty, the results of actions are individually certain and inconceivable. Firstly, How objects are the same as non-existence, Yet those with cataracts see the appearance of hair, Likewise, they do not see the appearance of other things, Likewise, know that ripening does not ripen again from ripening. Because actions that are not born of their own nature have no cessation, If it is asserted that ripening arises, then just as actions that have not produced ripening, those that have already produced ripening should also produce results, because they have not ceased. How objects such as hair and rabbit horns are the same as non-existence, Yet those with eyes obscured by cataracts see the appearance of hair and so on in the sky, However, they do not see the appearance of other things such as donkey horns and barren women's children, Likewise, actions that have already produced ripening and those that have not produced ripening are the same in that they have not ceased and are without inherent existence, However, from actions that have previously produced results, know that actions that have already ripened do not ripen again, as in the previous example.

It is the same. This is not established by our own system, but only eliminates wrong conceptions through the acceptance of others. Because it is believed that things like rabbit horns and barren women's children do not exist. The Lankavatara Sutra says: "Like the horns of a rabbit in the sky, and the children of a barren woman, like speaking of what does not exist in words, so is the discrimination of things." Isn't it said there that those things do not exist? Answer: There, too, it is only the discrimination of what exists (203a) that is blocked, not the discrimination of what does not exist, because if existence itself is not established, then non-existence is also unreasonable. The second is: Therefore, the ripening of non-virtuous black karma, the ripening of virtue itself is seen to arise from virtuous karma, the wise are liberated from good and non-good, and thinking about karmic results is also prohibited. This example not only shows that the ripening of karma is not uncertain, but also that it is not determined separately, because it is seen that even though things like hair combs are without inherent existence, they are still determined. Although virtuous and non-virtuous karma is without inherent existence, the cause of unpleasant ripening is the non-virtuous black karma itself, not virtuous karma. The pleasant and virtuous ripening itself is seen to arise from virtuous karma, not non-virtuous karma. Any wise person who realizes that both virtuous and non-virtuous karma are without inherent existence will be liberated, because it is very difficult to understand how such karma without inherent existence produces results, and how ripening is determined separately. The Bhagavan, thinking that if ordinary people who are very determined to judge karmic results in their own way were to slander karmic results, it would lead to the collapse of conventional reality, said to those who were afraid, "The ripening of the fruits of karma is inconceivable," thus prohibiting children from thinking about the relationship between karma and its results, because the relationship between karma and its results, such as "this result arises from this cause," cannot be understood by direct perception, because although karma and its results are not established by their own nature, they appear as separate truths in an infallible way, which is due to the power of the wisdom of hearing, thinking, and meditating. If one thinks arbitrarily, (203b) one will only think that it is contradictory, so how can the object of the mind be determined, that is, the object to be grasped is inconceivable. Second, the explanation of the alaya, etc.
