That is by the swans of beings, leading the way, relying on the power of the wind of merit, to reach the supreme shore of the ocean of the Victorious One's qualities. That bodhisattva, the generosity of conventional truth and so on, is even more blazing than before, and with the broad wings of realizing the truth of that very nature, the king of swans, white and growing, free from the stain of self-interest, the bodhisattva of the sixth ground, is led forward by many virtuous swans of beings, his own disciples, and by the power of the wind of merit of the two accumulations, he is made to go to the supreme shore of the ocean of the Victorious One's qualities, which are inexhaustible and unfathomable. Here it is said: In the investigation and the suchness of all things, Nothing is seen and nothing is found to be realized, Wisdom is also like that, knowing and perceiving, When the essence itself is completely secluded, Samadhi will perfect the Prajnaparamita. If after rising from that samadhi, Merely relying on the dependent cause and condition, A little grasping of that, When knowledge appears to that, Even though the appearance is by conceptual and non-conceptual knowledge, On the functioning of existence and non-existence, samsara and nirvana, The grasper and the grasped that are established there (353n) Are also free from elaboration, For the wandering beings deluded by the elaboration of grasper and grasped, This mere appearance of phenomena, the collection of elaborations of samsara and nirvana, How can all parts of the grasper and grasped be untrue, After explaining the reason well, even the mere appearance, Because it is established dependently, from the emptiness of its own nature, The mere appearance cannot be cut off in any way, This belief that it exists is also a clinging to, A slight remainder of the elaborated phenomena, How can the supreme tenets of the Middle Way be completely perfected? So it is said. From the Entering the Middle Way, the sixth generation of mind. From the Entering the Middle Way, the explanation of the sixth generation of mind called Manifestation is completed. The seventh generation of mind, Gone Far Away. The seventh is: Gone Far Away, here, this is a moment, A moment is to enter into cessation, The perfection of skillful means is also well ablaze. The seventh ground of the bodhisattva, Gone Far Away, here, this bodhisattva is a moment of mind and a moment, that is, to enter into the samadhi of cessation obtained on the sixth ground, It is not to manifest cessation, but with the scriptural authority of the sutras and the self-commentary

It is said in the middle. Here, the Sutra says that only the name "entering cessation samāpatti" appears. Its meaning is that the Śrāvakavāda school considers it to be the samāpatti of the noble ones who have cut off the six consciousnesses, the Vaibhāṣikas consider it to be a real non-associated formative force, the Sautrāntikas consider it to be a nominal existence, and some consider that there is also a mind-consciousness. The noble Asanga said: "What is entering cessation samāpatti? It is to be free from desire for the sphere of nothingness, to transcend the peak of existence, to abide in peace, and to make the mind and mental factors (353b) of unstable dharmas, and some of the stable dharmas, enter into the cessation samāpatti." Thus it is established. It means that the noble one who has attained the mind of the peak of existence considers that the coarse feelings and thoughts have subsided, so it is said that this is a non-associated formative force of the state of aggregates that has cut off the seven consciousnesses including the entourage. The noble Nāgārjuna and his son consider that this is entering into Suchness, which is free from all elaborations. The commentary says: "Entering cessation samāpatti is entering into the true limit, therefore Suchness is called cessation, because here all elaborations will cease." Therefore, Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas will remain in cessation samāpatti for a long time, because they are very fond of peace. Bodhisattvas, because they do not like peace and are proficient in means, enter and rise from cessation samāpatti every moment from the seventh bhūmi, thereby surpassing Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas with the power of wisdom. Here it is said that one can both enter and rise from samāpatti in one moment, which has been discussed above. However, what is said here is whether one can enter cessation samāpatti in one moment, and whether one can come out of cessation samāpatti in one moment. In the duration of one moment, the act of entering and rising from samāpatti can be perfectly completed. Otherwise, it takes many moments for either entering or rising from samāpatti. In the eighth bhūmi, although there is a situation of entering cessation samāpatti in one moment, there is also a situation of not rising from samāpatti in one moment (354n), because there, through the gate of non-effort and non-sign, the excellence of abiding in Suchness reaches its extreme. Every moment in cessation samāpatti
