Without separation, it possesses the characteristic of great joy. Great equanimity, because it is free from subsequent attachment and anger, etc., should be known as having the characteristic of non-mixture. The fifth is: The Buddha's Dharma is unmixed, either ten or eighteen as desired. Because the teacher is not robbed by it, therefore, not being robbed is its own nature. The Buddha's Dharmas are unmixed, either ten or eighteen as desired, that is, eighteen. The six summarized by conduct are: The body and speech have no confusion, the speech has no idle talk, there is no forgetting of the meaning of sentient beings, the mind is not placed in equality, there is no different concept of taking and abandoning of samsara and nirvana. There is no equanimity of abandoning those to be tamed without discrimination. The six summarized by realization are: desire, diligence, mindfulness, samadhi, wisdom, and no falling away from liberation. The three summarized by activity are: all activities of the three doors are preceded by wisdom and follow wisdom. The three summarized by wisdom are: there is no attachment to the knowable of the three times (348b), and the vision of unobstructed wisdom arises. Those are because the teacher Buddha has no faults such as confusion, therefore there is no gap, it will not be robbed, and cannot be overcome, therefore it is the nature of not being robbed. The sixth is: The wisdom of all-knowingness is considered to be the nature of direct perception. Others are only partial and are not considered to be direct perception. The wisdom of all-knowingness is considered to be the nature of being directly perceived for all dharmas summarized by skandhas, dhatus, and ayatanas. The wisdom of other Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, because it only knows partial knowable objects, is not considered to be directly knowing all dharmas. The third is: Whatever is the nature of conditioned phenomena and the nature of unconditioned phenomena, that is emptiness by its own essence, that is self-nature emptiness. The fifteenth is: The present does not abide, the past and the future do not exist. Where they cannot be observed, there

It is called non-apprehension (Tibetan: mi dmigs pa). Non-apprehension is its very nature. That which is the nature of emptiness by this, is neither permanent nor destructible. Therefore, it is called the emptiness of non-apprehension. The present moment is momentary. Even the moment, when examined by the three aspects of beginning, middle, and end, does not remain for a moment. Because the past has ceased and the future has not yet arisen, it does not exist. Among the three times, these three times are not apprehended, therefore it is called non-apprehension. Non-apprehension is its very nature, and that which is the nature of emptiness by this is neither permanent nor destructible. Therefore, it is called the emptiness of non-apprehension. The sixteenth is: Because things arise from conditions, there is no nature of aggregation in things. That which arises from aggregation is emptiness by itself, and emptiness is the emptiness of non-existence. Like the Middle and Extremes, the first six are spoken of through the door of the subject, and the next eight through the door of necessity, and the last two through the door of abandoning imputation, because there is no thing, eliminating the imputation of person and dharma. With the emptiness of the nature of non-existence, in order to abandon the slander of emptiness, it is explained through the door of characteristics. It is intended to guide those who are attached to other-powered and perfectly established natures, so all Madhyamaka teachings are empty of their own nature, which is profound and particularly excellent. Regarding the manner of the sixteen emptinesses, the Explanatory Tantra Vajra Garland and the latter part of the Sambhuta Tantra, and the root commentary and explanation of the Middle and Extremes, and the root commentaries of the Eight Thousand Verse Meaning Collection, mostly appear to be consistent in their presentation, but in terms of the definitive meaning, only what is explained here is true. The second is: the emptiness of things, the emptiness of non-things, the emptiness of self-nature, and the emptiness of other-nature, and the first of the four: The sound of things, in short, refers to the five aggregates. Those are empty by that, which is said to be the emptiness of things. The so-called emptiness of things
