I have never seen anywhere anything like saying that it prevents self-generation, etc. (271b) Moreover, in establishing your tenet in this way, not even a single word can be found in the texts of the followers of the noble Nāgārjuna that can be cited. All that is cited contradicts all the commentaries in both Chinese and Tibetan, and it seems that only distorted meanings have been added. If it is thought that it is not pervasive at the root, it is pervasive. Furthermore, although Mañjuśrī himself attained Buddhahood and assumed the form of a bodhisattva on the tenth ground, the chief teacher of this doctrine is the teacher Śākyamuni, and Maitreya, Mañjuśrī, etc., are his retinue, so in this case, the teacher himself should be taken as the authority. In particular, the earlier Tibetan Madhyamikas only negated existence but did not establish non-existence, and they negated duality but never established non-duality. Those who refute others' wrong views based solely on the conventional truth of dependent arising, which is accepted by the world, without making their own assertions and refutations. As it says in the Bodhicaryāvatāra: "How, relying on what is known, does one examine everything?" They only said that. Furthermore, if one says that you must agree with something that the early Tibetan Madhyamikas did not agree with, then it would be like this: "Forcing you to agree here is clearly the behavior of Īśvara." That is what it would become. Here it is said: Even if the two truths are established in the eyes of the world, there is no fame or establishment in either of the two truths, and even if there is, such two truths are established in dependence. Only nominally speaking on the surface without examination (272a), once examined, the world arises from dependence, and it is therefore established as emptiness. Since emptiness and dependent arising cannot be established either, how can all phenomena be objects of speech, thought, and expression? With the wisdom that individually examines, examining all phenomena as emptiness, when the examiner and the examined themselves are also completely pacified in the nature of their own essence, just as when fire arises from rubbing two sticks, there is no opportunity for the fire and the two sticks to remain anywhere by the act of burning. Having understood this non-existence of truth, when the object of examination is examined separately, that separate examination itself has no basis. Because there is no basis, there is no separate examination.

Also not born, the unborn is also said to be nirvana, At that time, established by conventional measure, in order to dispel the two extremes of permanence and annihilation, the conventional truth, From the true emptiness, undeniably accomplishing meaning, Will it remain afterward? All practitioners should contemplate. Thus it is said. Explanation of the Absence of Self of a Person. In the context of extensively explaining the absence of self of a person and the emptiness of phenomena, secondly, the reason why the self of a person should be refuted, the reasons for refuting it are extensively explained, and after refuting, it is shown that a person is merely a designation based on dependence, in three parts. The first is: All afflictions and faults, without exception, arise from the collection, Having seen with wisdom that they arise from views, Having realized that the self is the object of this, The yogi should then prevent the self. Having refuted the self of phenomena with scripture and reason, now, in order to refute the self of a person, the yogi who desires liberation should refute the self that is the object of the clinging of the view of the collection, because all afflictions such as desire and all faults such as birth, old age, sickness, death, sorrow, etc., and the contaminated wisdom that grasps at "I" and "mine," arise from the view of the collection (272b), Therefore, having seen with wisdom that they arise, they should be refuted. Because the self is realized as the object of this view of the collection. It is pervasive, meaning that if the object of clinging to the self is not removed, the subject cannot be refuted. The sutra says: "All afflictions have the view of the collection as their root, the view of the collection as their cause, and the view of the collection as their pervasive origin." Thus, the view of the collection is the condition, and the branches of dependent origination such as actions, etc., are included in the three afflictions, and if the wheel of existence greatly increases, it will revolve for a long time, so this investigation that refutes the view of the collection is the supreme means of accomplishing liberation. Now, starting with the two absences of self, what is the self of a person and the self of phenomena? What is the reason for refuting them? In what way are they absent? The self of a person is the object of clinging to the view of the collection that grasps at self and what belongs to self, and is called self, sentient being, person, individual, life, power-born, power-lord, experiencer, etc. Among these, there are two kinds of objects of the view of the collection: the co-emergent object and the imputed object. The first is: imputed by wrong spiritual friends and bad tenets.
