If the effect is simultaneous, and both cause and effect become causeless, etc., one must acknowledge endless faults. Therefore, wherever there are Madhyamikas who speak contrary to the good tradition of Nagarjuna and his sons and followers, isn't it strange? If the Svatantrikas say that arising from other in conventional truth is what the Bhagavan commonly taught to his own school and others, so it must be acknowledged, that is also unreasonable. That is: Whatever arises dependent on something, that is temporarily not itself, nor is it other than that, therefore it is neither annihilation nor permanence. And: If cause and effect are different, cause and non-cause become the same. If fire is different from wood, then fire could arise without wood. And: Annihilation and actions would be wasted, and actions done by others would be experienced by others individually, and so on would be faults. And so on, the endless faults that the teacher spoke of for those who believe cause and effect are other, apply to the Svatantrikas. But if you think that reasoning analysis does not apply to conventions, because it is pleasing without examination, then in that case, it is meaningless to align conventional truth with the tenets of philosophical schools, so there is no point in acknowledging other-arising in conventional terms. If the Madhyamikas, like worldly conventions, say it is pleasing without examination, then without analyzing whether the arising of self and other is reasonable or not, they merely say they reject arising. Just by saying and thinking that, and then accepting and rejecting, the purpose is accomplished, so that alone is sufficient, why seek anything else? (134a) Secondly, since other cannot exist before and after, other-arising is unreasonable, and since simultaneous arising is impossible, other-arising is unreasonable. Firstly, the actual statement, and the refutation of examples that avoid faults. The first is: The sprout and the seed do not exist simultaneously, for without otherness, how could the seed become another seed? Therefore, the sprout does not arise and accomplish from the seed, so this view that says it arises from other should be abandoned. Thus, for the tenet of other-arising and other-being, the refutation is stated in a following manner. Now, the reason why cause and effect cannot be other is shown. Here, for the realists

Some do not want cause and effect to be simultaneous, because if the two are simultaneous, there is no necessary function. If the effect is not established, the cause is not established. If the cause is established, the effect is already established, so they do not become mutual producers and produced. According to that view, other causes and effects cannot exist. Even if Maitreya and Near Hidden (Manjushri) are regarded as others in relation to each other, such otherness of cause and effect will not be established. Sprouts and seeds do not exist simultaneously at once, because without the seed changing, there will be no sprout. When the seed is that time, there is no other sprout, how can the seed become different from the sprout? Because there is no such situation between the other and the other. Therefore, it is impossible for the sprout to be born from other things besides the seed, so the view that things are born from other things should be abandoned. Therefore, the nature of things is not in conditions and so on. If my thing does not exist, how can other things exist? The "in" of "in conditions and so on" is the seventh case locative, that is, the respective causes and conditions of conditions, etc., or the collection, such as pottery wheels, etc. The nature of things is not in other things. If things have not been transformed into nature, then they do not exist in the nature of things. If this is not the case, things have not been produced, how can it be allowed to exist in conditions and so on? Any thing that does not exist at any time and place is not produced from the existence of conditions and so on, just as there is no oil in the sand. If it does not exist, it can also be produced from those conditions, then it can also be produced from non-conditions, why can't it be produced? So it is said. If it is considered that the nature of things that have been transformed into the nature of things is mutually heterogeneous in cause and condition, then the view that cause and effect are not simultaneous should also be abandoned. Second, refuting the example of fault avoidance and refuting it. First, just as the two ends of a balance, high and low, do not appear at the same time, is the birth and death change of the producer and the producer the same? It is also said that the land and the sprout do not exist at the same time, which is unreasonable, the produced is the fruit, and the producer is the cause.
