Although I do not have the opportunity to meet you in person and hear your teachings, I am extremely happy to receive the message that you will compassionately accept me in the future, like a peacock hearing the thunder of summer. Now, I will condense my request into key points: Although I have had the good fortune to meet the venerable Jamgon Dorje Chang Lodro Thaye ('jam mgon rdo rje 'chang blo gter dbang po, Jamgon Dorje Chang Lodro Thaye) and hear the teachings of many virtuous spiritual friends, the knowledge I have gained remains at the level of understanding. Because my innate and acquired wisdom is low, and I am controlled by afflictions, I have not engaged in any actual practice. Now I am worried that I will die without any practice, so I want to rely on a lama, but Jamgon Dorje Chang is no longer alive. Moreover, in this place, there is no one who can transmit the maturing and liberating teachings suitable for my own tradition. I cannot even find a place to receive an empowerment to restore my vows. I have deep faith in your (Lord of Dharma) biography, not just verbally, but from the bottom of my heart. Moreover, my uncle, that wise man with the eye of Dharma, has a teacher-student relationship with you Rinpoche, and your minds are very pure. Therefore, I hope that you will consider his vows and compassionately accept me. Therefore, I regard you as my only refuge in this life and the next, and I will rely on you through the three ways of pleasing you, and practice according to your teachings, hoping to make this precious human life meaningful, and this is not just empty words. In addition, in this place, although there are one or two intelligent and motivated people, no one can transmit empowerments, transmissions, and instructions, so they just recite some scriptures verbally, which is as useless as stars in the daytime. Therefore, we are like blind people wandering in a vast wilderness, please do not abandon us. If you can go to the Dege (sde dge) area around the fourth month of the Tibetan calendar, I will pray to you many times, hoping that you will consider that the time is ripe and be sure to bestow your grace. If it is inconvenient to go to the Dege area, then please go to Sershul Monastery (sel shul dgon) around the fifth month of the Tibetan calendar, We will be there to welcome you. If I really do not have the opportunity to go to the lower region, then I will definitely go to the place where you live, please be sure to give me a message. Here I recite: Although my eyes have not seen your precious lotus feet, when I hear your beautiful reputation, like smelling a fragrant scent, I, this respectful bee, will hum and sing, longing for the taste of your profound nectar. O, Virtuous Master! I have heard that by relying on you, one can obtain the essence of dualistic accomplishments and hundreds of flavors, A wealth of immeasurable qualities and fruits. You are the treasure trove of precious qualities of scripture and realization, invited by the leader of excellent diligence. In order to bestow the wealth of wisdom upon us, You are the son of the Buddhas, the benefactor of beings. We are so poor, lacking the wealth of the three trainings, Suffering greatly from various afflictions and pains, Wandering like Dharma-less beggars, We impoverished ones are like beggars. Therefore, just as elephants suffering from the heat, Joyfully enter a lotus pond, We foolish ones, wandering in the darkness of ignorance and doubt, Are eager to rely on your feet. First, relying on you, the protector, and acting according to your instructions, Then, in a delightful and secluded place, When will the good fortune of diligently striving for single-pointed practice arise? I often think like this. Not only me, but also my Dharma friend, The one whose speech is like the moon, radiating the light of eloquent teachings, Also yearns for you like a thirsty person yearns for water, Constantly remembering you in their mind. The mandala of your wisdom and compassion, which destroys the darkness of terrifying demonic forces, If it does not nurture the lotus of our humble minds, To whom shall we impoverished ones turn for refuge? Like a person wandering in a deserted monastery, We lack a virtuous friend to guide us on the right path, Pitiful us, please do not abandon us with your compassion, Fulfill our hopes, Lord of Dharma! Your sacred form, like a white lotus, is the nectar for our eyes, Your melodious voice, like the sound of a drum, enhances the glory of our ears, The rays of your compassion dispel the darkness of our minds, May that time not be far from us. Having been born in this degenerate age of great decline, We are tormented by various unwanted things, Please, with your loving-kindness, for our sake, By all means, come to this region of Do-mey, Lord of Dharma! Firstly, by the blessings of the Three Jewels and the deities, Secondly, by the power of your aspiration, Lord of Dharma, Thirdly, by the strength of the oath-bound protectors, May all our wishes be fulfilled!
