The cause: If you recognize it, affliction is wisdom; if you miss the point, the path will also be mistaken. The suffering you are experiencing is conceptual thought. If you are separate from conceptual thought, there is no suchness. This conceptual thought that appears as suffering is a mirror for viewing suchness. Although no one desires this suffering, it is not entirely to be abandoned, because happiness also arises from it. This suffering is the path to happiness. All the illusions that arise from conceptual thought, if you cling to external objects, you will again be mistaken. If you know it is your own mind, without correcting it, leave it in its natural state, and it will naturally appear. Ah! The various illusions of the six realms, which cannot be measured by anyone's mind, are painted by the pen of a deluded mind, and there is no other creator. All the qualities of the ground and path of all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the three times are due to the skillful means of the mind's interdependence, and no other creator can be found. Therefore, all the changes of samsara and nirvana are only the manifestations of the mind's awareness, and there is nothing that exists outside of it. All dharmas are the magical manifestations of one's own mind. In this snowy land of Tibet, the scholars and accomplished ones of the past had two views on whether the external appearance is mind or not. However, since the suchness of all dharmas is one, although the temporary expressions are different when establishing this truth as it is, the ultimate intention appears to be the same. Following the profound tantra of the root explanation of the glorious Hevajra (དགྱེས་པ་རྡོ་རྗེ), the yoga master Virupa (བིརྺ་པ) and his sons all consider appearance to be mind. According to the view of the highest yoga tantra, in order to achieve Buddhahood in one lifetime, it is a very important teaching to establish the external appearance as mind. The inner truth of this profound teaching is not well known in other systems, and it is the unique feature of this teaching, but few people truly understand its meaning. The non-existent mind, like an illusionist, who cannot be established if its own root is cut off, miraculously transforms all the appearances of samsara and nirvana as if they exist. If you know well that this appearance is mind, then there is no contradiction between long and short, good and bad, wide and narrow, etc. If you know the point, it will appear as a friend of meditation. If you do not know that your own appearance is mind, you will not develop devotion to the lama, and by finding fault with his actions, you will cut off the opportunity to attain siddhis. If you know that the appearances of purity and impurity are from your own mind, and not outside of it... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recognizing one's own faults and remaining humble, One will develop pure perception towards others. The great Bodhisattvas who have attained mastery, Their inconceivable miraculous powers, Seem to arise from recognizing that Illusory appearances are the workings of one's own mind. If one clings to the illusions of evil spirits and demons As external entities, that is a fault. But for the yogi who recognizes everything as their own mind's display, Even the hordes of demons appear as companions on the path. Taking refuge in one, all refuges are included; Practicing one Dharma, all practices are complete; Mastering one key point, one can traverse all paths. This profound path is the Guru Yoga. The method of practicing in this way is: First, visualize the Guru as the Buddha, Determine that the Guru includes all refuges, And pray with devotion and longing. Secondly, see the Guru as the actual Buddha, All refuges appear as the essence of the Guru, And unwavering faith arises in your mind. The blessings of the Guru enter your mind. Finally, directly see your own mind as the Buddha, The Guru and your mind merge, inseparable, The experience of reality arises from within, And all conceptual elaborations naturally dissolve. The so-called 'mind is unborn,' Should not just be lip service, But rather, one must thoroughly understand The key point that the mind does not arise from any of the four extremes (arising, not arising, both arising and not arising, neither arising nor not arising). Even though unborn, appearance does not contradict it; Although appearing, its essence is not truly established. Therefore, emptiness and dependent arising are not contradictory, And one will gain firm conviction in this truth. At that time, the three doors of liberation (emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness) Can also appear as forms, And those forms will not be bound by appearances, Leading to the realization of emptiness and clarity. If one understands such key points, Then the profound path of the generation stage of luminosity and emptiness, Will not just be an empty name, But will truly be attained in your being. In the past, the Second Buddha, Nagarjuna, Proclaimed the lion's roar of emptiness, That profound meaning of the Madhyamaka view, Is intimate with the mind of that being. The ignorance that binds us to samsara, Is the dualistic conceptual thought, But if one analyzes and examines it, it vanishes into emptiness. Therefore, the 'self' bound by it is also false. Since one cannot find what needs to be abandoned, One cannot find the antidote to abandon it. Just as one cannot find the genitals of a barren woman, One cannot find the executioner to kill her. Since no Dharma is truly established in essence, One cannot find a target to cling to. But because dependent arising is not deceptive, In conventional truth, there is acceptance and rejection, samsara and nirvana. If one understands such distinctions, The nature of all Dharmas... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
