When the essence of non-duality is realized, It is the heart of the Sakya Dharma. It is known as the non-duality of Samsara and Nirvana. The yogi who realizes this point, Does not abandon the causes and effects of suffering in Samsara, but takes them as the path. Without relying on eons of time, It seems that Buddhahood is attained with little effort. Although there are many scholars these days, Those who realize such key points are as rare as morning stars. They quibble over the words of the Victorious Ones, And are very stubborn debaters. Even if they investigate for many years, They only engage in meaningless arguments of 'you are,' 'you are not,' 'you are not,' 'you are.' Very few grasp the essential point amidst the chaos of attachment and aversion. In these degenerate times, beings are fierce and difficult to tame, No matter how much you do, they cannot be satisfied. Instead of engaging in such biased actions, Wouldn't it be better to stay alone? By focusing one-pointedly on practice, And gaining the fearless confidence and warmth that can both liberate oneself and guide others, I will carry out your (father's) work. Supreme Refuge, do you think that is appropriate? Son, how should I act? Father, I remember your incomparable kindness. Protector, I will act according to your command. In this life, the next life, and all the Bardo states, Whatever happiness or suffering befalls me, I will always Rely solely on the blessings of my father Lama. This is a song of realization offered by Kunga Gyaltsen to the supreme Lama Vajradhara. May it be auspicious! Homage to the Lama! The great Vajradhara (རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆང་།, वज्रधर, Vajradhara, Holder of the Vajra), in human form, Is the protector of all beings pervading space, Especially the supreme refuge of a beggar like me. I prostrate to the lotus feet of my father Lama. The Lord of Speech, the Sakyapa (ས་སྐྱ་པ།, साक्य, Sakya, Sakya), Holding the treasury of stainless teachings, And skillfully instructing a beggar like me, Protector, I remember your kindness from the depths of my heart. I offer my body, possessions, and the accumulations of merit from the three times, To you, my kind father, Please accept them with your loving heart. Supreme Lama, you are the embodiment of all refuges, Devotees proclaim this, But few truly realize That all refuges are gathered in the Lama. Son, in my faithful mind, I do not see the refuges, the Buddhas of the three times, and the deities of the mandala, As separate from you, Therefore, I know you are the Lord of Dharma. In this place where many people are bound by the ropes of bad karma, In the place called Lower Do Kham (མདོ་ཁམས་སྨད།, दो खाम, Do Kham, Do Kham), A place of perfect qualities has been found. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now there are many difficulties, In order to follow in your (Guru's) footsteps. Now in this desolate and empty place, Having abandoned worldly religious activities, I feel confined and alone. I am worried about the harm from external circumstances, And I am troubled by the many internal negative thoughts, My mind is sinking into the swamp of laziness. Now, I pray that you quickly protect me with your compassion! In this degenerate age, regarding worldly friends and enjoyments, Having turned away from them from the depths of my heart, I pray that I can seize the remainder of my life, Bless me to live in a solitary mountain retreat to practice. This innate wisdom of emptiness and awareness, Seeing it as the embodiment of the Guru, With constant remembrance and devotion, Bless me to directly see the face of the Dharmadhatu. Karma and afflictions are the root of samsara, If you carefully observe and analyze them, they are merely thoughts. If you know how to transform these thoughts into the path, Then accumulating merit and purifying obscurations can also be perfected by this. No matter how many obstacles there are, whether external or internal, Other than your own mind, there is nowhere else to find them. If you understand the key point of the unborn emptiness of the mind, Then obstacles will also appear as a protective circle. Recognizing that the demon is something to be abandoned is in accordance with the Dharma. Recognizing that the demon is one's own mind, it becomes a companion on the path. Seeing the demon as Dharmata, this is the key point of the view. Transforming the demon into accomplishment, this is the instruction. It is very rare to have no faults at all. If you consider faults as virtues, then that will become an obstacle. Everyone has the opportunity to be liberated by abandoning faults. Transforming faults into virtues is our way of practice. Confirming the suffering of birth, death, and the bardo, As the nature of the three kayas, Through the profound path of the fourfold method, If you can meditate, you will realize the three kayas. The cause and effect of samsara, all suffering and duality, By practicing through the path of maturation and liberation, If you can quickly transform them into body and wisdom, Then there is no difference between samsara and nirvana. When you understand the truth of this profound Dharma, Even in a moment of practice, You can generate the profound preliminary, main, and subsequent practices of the path, A definite understanding that all the key points are fully present. Regarding the experiences of pleasure and pain in illusory appearances, If you are attached to the craving of acceptance and rejection, That is indeed the cause of being bound in samsara, But there is no bondage or liberation in the nature of pleasure and pain. Bondage and liberation are in the mind's clinging, When held by the method of non-attachment, Samsara will also appear as deities and wisdom, This is the special characteristic of this path. Without letting your mind wander and drift, If you strengthen it with the view of non-grasping, Then the appearance of pleasure and pain, like an example, Transforming into wisdom, who can stop it? If you grasp the key point, even without meditating, it is wisdom. If the mind is ignorant, even with meditation, it is samsara. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
